Hilton Head. Been going there for 11 years now and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. The water is warm, great beaches, wonderful atmosphere, lots of good places to eat.
A wide variety of beach experiences. Folly Field is a great family atmosphere, Coligny kind of funky, Sea Pines and Shelter Cove a pretty upscale.
There are fireworks every Tuesday at Shelter Cove. Gregg Russell at Harbourtown is always a great way to spend an evening.
There are 78 golf courses on the island with reasonable rates. I know HH has a reputation of being kind of pricey but there are still a lot of places to rent that are not priced out of reach.
It's about a 9 hr. drive from So. Md.
