Bee experiment

So, we've got a rather large hornets or wasp nest in the peak of our roof. Now they're starting to come into the garage. My husband thinks he can use the pressure washer to shoot down the nest? My thoughts are, will they come streaming out of the nest and chase him? (Should I lock the door?) He seems to think the pressure will kill or at least stun them enough that they won't attack? any thoughts??:buddies:

stand by with ointment and band-aids. Having 911 on speed dial could be a good idea too.

Yesterday I pressure washed my deck and a wasp kept taking an interest in me while I was doing it. I hit it with the pressure washer 3-4 times and it just kept getting back up in no time. It didn't sting me, but then again I didn't just destroy its hive either.

Actually if he doesn't have to go up a ladder to do this might work out ok. I wouldn't do it if i had to go up a ladder to use the pressure washer. When you said lock the door is that to keep your hubby outside with the wasps he stirred up???

Hell yes, all I can think of is those old cartoons where all the bees come out chasing the person in a line.... I don't want that chit in the house !!!

Effective range of a pressure washer is only a few feet. After that, it's just a mist.

You'd be better off getting one of the wasp killers that shoot a stream 20'. They work well and kill on contact. Then you can climb up and remove the nest.

Wait til the sun starts to go down, bees aren't usually very active then. This is what I do, then I spray them with WD40, kills them instantly.

6 ft ladder didn't even help. The nest is glued to the house I think !!!

Yes, we tried the 27 ft raid treatment too, no dice. These ####ers mean WAR!!

Maybe we have a mutant strain?? They weren't even bothered by the water or spray???

They do live outdoors.

Watch the wasp spray, i used some in my shed and it ate up a plastic chair that was in the line of fire behind the nest. Collateral damage i guuess.
