Beef Exploding

the poor dad
Dairy farms usually produce milk, not beef. That would be a cattle ranch.
Expect milk and all other dairy prices to go up a little.
The commodity traders in Chicago don’t know the difference. But dairy cows are slaughtered for beef after their useful life.

None of ours ever were. We raised prime beef as a "side" business because all our Holstein dairy cows were inseminated to drop black angus calves. Holsteins and Herefords are/were notorious for their difficulties in dropping calves,..so we bred them to be as small as possible. The cross-bred calves raised in to most excellent veal and prime beef. But the old cows...gawd...I'm sure some somewhere ended up in the food chain but I shudder at the thought... yuk.

I'd steer clear of that beef, its pasture time.

18000 seems like a very high number for cattle in a barn facility. The building would need to be acres and acres of space. :ohwell:

I'm thinking the reporter added a zero.

From the linked article - "The Castro County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with Fox News Digital that the cows were in a holding area before being brought in for milking when the blast occurred at the Southfork Dairy Farm in Dimmitt."
