Bermuda or Bahamas

I haven't...but comparing the Bahamas to Jamaica or some places in Puerto Rico I would say that you got a bad example....Grand Bahama, or anywhere a cruise ship pulls in, are where the scam artists and people trying to sell stuff flock..and I mean you can sympathize, they really don't have much...

I agree with your husband not letting you go alone....I would never let girls go by themselves...and we had a big group of girls that wanted to leave Ricks in Negril and go back to the resort...

You should try a stay at Sandals sometime...they are wonderful

When I finally get to go on my dream vaca, I'm staying here. :yay:

that's where the wife is lobbying for next...when we were in Negril a couple said it was by far the best one....they said weren't any kids when they went (during the school year)

sandals is awesome...if you go sign up for their program..you will get sick discounts and they have a dinner for you one night where they give you a bunch of booze and cool stuff...

I loved the Bahamas simply for Nassau (Atlantis). My aunt has been to Bermuda 3 times in a row, all within a year and a half. It's a more relaxed feeling and much more beautiful.

What are you looking to do/see?

As several people already mentioned...I have been to Jamaica twice this year and love it. Stayed at Sandals both times and i wouldn't stay anywhere else. I am booked to go to the Sandals in St lucia in May because we love it so much. If you decide on Sandals you can get all kinds of perks and discounts with their Sandals Select Program.

Have fun whereever you decide to go!!!

Actually just time away from work and the kids to relax. I'd be happy just being on the ship  So basically sitting on the beach w/ a cocktail, and maybe hitting a few bars for a drink.

BTDT got the the tee shirt :yay::yay: This is a kid friendly place so be aware of that. The resort got bashed a couple of years ago by a hurricane but a tavel agent friend of ours went down for a conference (rough job) after the repairs were done and said it was WAAAYYYY better than when we went.

Definitely would go back.

For an escape from the touristy places in the little latitudes look into St. Bart, St. John, or Curacao (bro & SIL loved Curacao).

You would probably enjoy Bermuda more. It's not as fast paced like the Bahamas and it's much nicer. But if you want to act like a kid and hit the water park at Atlantis, Bahamas is a must!!! I had sooooo much fun there and cannot wait to go back.

BTW, Senor Frogs is w/in walking distance of the ship in Nassau. When you've had 4 yard drinks, it's a loooooong, stumbling walk. :blushing:

I did love the crystal water and beaches but not everything else, maybe the problem is that was the first time I have ever been to the Islands and I just expected to much. This cruise we are going to St. Martin and St. Thomas. Have you been there what did you think, I have heard they are nicer..

We're going on a cruise in March. Stops include Nassau, St. Martin and St. Thomas. We'll be in Nassau agaain in July, we're staying at Atlantis for a week. That place is amazing. This'll be our forth trip there and we can't get enough of the place. Never been to Bermuda though. My wife wants to. We'll probably do a cruise out od B'more.

Who do you flew with? I'm brainstorming vacation ideas for just hubby and I for 2010 and I'm considering St. Lucia. I just did a quick airfare search and the cheapest I've seen for the month of May is $532 per person. Is this reasonable?

A friend of ours is a travel agent, you want a contact number?
