Best Friend

I lost my best friend today, she had been with me a good long while.
I held her close and kissed her goodbye and with her eyes, she gave me a smile.

She never complained or argued or told me I was wrong
She gave me all her time and love and friendship, lifelong.

I think she knew she was loved very much
And I feel honored that it was my life she touched.

If there is a heaven for dogs, I know she is there
Watching over me with her sweet, gentle stare.

I am so VERY sorry to hear about your Friend. She was lucky to have you with her. I have assisted in Euthanasia, but could not be with my own Pup when we put her down. I am sad for you. She's up there with my Molly now.

Thats okay, I knew the time was coming, I took her to her vet this morning and they did a wonderful job with her, very compassionate and caring. I brought her home to bury her in her favorite spot in the yard. Thank you for the thoughts.

I'd rather end a loved ones life on their terms, humanely and. Comfortably. Instead we have to watch and sit by sometimes for months while they suffer.
