Best Pizza in SMC

St. Mary's hospital. Not kidding. The crap that's been sitting in the cafeteria isn't too good..but when I worked there they let employees order pizzas at the start of their shift to take home..and their buffalo chicken pizza was freakin fantastic...sooo good. crust was perfect, cheese was thick, lots of chicken and blue cheese

but if we get a pizza anywhere it's usually pizza hut  I used to HATE papa johns, but they have made some improvements last time I tried it. My parents really like the pizzas from latabella..and they lived in italy and dad is from NY..so they are kind of experts. :killingme

Ooh, and Nicoletti's is okay when it's hot and fresh, but the test for pizza is the morning after still sitting on the counter, and Nicoletti's fails that test miserably.

This, is where I feel St. James leaves the competition far behind.

Since I can't have traditional pizza, Nicolletti's is about the only place that makes a really good white pizza. I love all the different cheeses they use. Expensive, but good.

I do enjoy Dominoes steak and cheese pizza without the mushrooms.

Haven't really tried any other places, but if you know someone that makes a really good white pizza, please recommend them. I'd love to try it sometime.
Gridiron grill used to make a good white pizza, at least according to the wife.

I love margherita pizza, but have never eaten any in St. Mary's. Now I am hungry again. Monday candy, today pizza. You all are killing me.

Charlotte Hall's Pizza Hotline. I have no idea why but two slices are all I need to go into pizza coma. Great crust, good sauce - not too tart or too sweet, and they don't hold back on toppings.

St. James, by far. They put STRIPS of bacon on their pizza, not little bits. And next to Papa Johns, St. James does win the morning after contest.

I dunno about SMC, but I like The Ruddy Duck's pizzas over in Lusby. And the Things and I really like Papa John's pizza from here in PF. It's pretty darn good. :yahoo:

Ruddy Duck's pizzas were the best in the area -- if you didn't grow up on chain outlet pizza this was by far the most authenitc Italian pizza (which means what you would get in Italy and in the CT, NYC, NJ, Philly corridor.
Was because there was a change in the kitchen and ithey aren't quite the same now.

La Tabbela is a good second. The rest are all the same, you don't back pizza on a conveyor belt, in a pan. The top should never be dry because it's the only way to get the crust finished.

I know it's way up north but Napoli's in Waldorf is the closest thing to NY style I've found around here. Many don't like it but Ledo's is good too. Domino's will do if I'm really really desperate, but it's never hot enough nor cooked all the way even if I specify "well done", therefore I always preheat my oven when I place my order.

Their pizza was much better in years past, their Calzones are really tasty!
