What kind of formula, what kind of diapers? How old is the little one?

We buy the BJ's brand formula and Diapers, cheaper then the commissary, and no problems with either one. We matched up the formula ingredients we used before (Isomil) with the BJ's brand with no ill effects.. though I don't think we use the Isomil equivalent anymore.

Some people maybe offended by NOT getting name brand Pampers, and formula...

I thought you gave her tatas a long time ago... :lmao:

I am saving $4 per pack of diapers for mom when I switched from a pharmacy to Walmart.

Isomil? REALLY? they're prolly made by Isomil.
I think she uses Similac. I have a bottle at home (I swiped an empty one from her trash can so she wouldn't know, and she saw it sitting on the counter this past weekend and wanted to know why i had an empty bottle from the ready to feed kind on MY counter, and she threw it away AGAIN  )

I always buy my diapers at BJ's, because they are cheaper when you buy in bulk. I go through too many diapers to just grab a pack here and there from WalMart (or wherever).

As for formula, as long as she is on a typical formula (Similac Advance, Isomil Advance) I'd buy from BJ's also. They only sell those 2 there, as well as their brands. I once bought the BJ's brand of Similac Advance and I had no issues with it, and it was $10 cheaper.

My girl twin was put on Nutramigen which is $25 for a small can, it just about killed us. Whereas my boy twin was on Similac Advance from day one ($13 for a small can).

Formula/Diapers are SOOOO expensive and I think it's a wonderful gift! I know when people ask me what I want for Christmas, I tell them to buy me a case of diapers for each kid at BJ's. I am all about the practical gifts now!!

My 3 year old is almost done pottytraining, it will be nice to have only 2 in diapers!

Yep, we started out with expensive soy-based Isomil ($29.99 per small can) and then switched over to BJ's house brand at $19.99 per can - and it's alot larger!). As Bob mentions, the nutritional values matched up almost point-for-point. The savings of going to BJ's brand has been tremendous.

We also use BJ's diapers, which I've found to be more economical as well as better quality. Naturally, I've not tried every brand out there, but the one's that I've tried have BJ's house brand coming out the winner. I recently tried the Target brand diapers and didn't care for them at all. Also tried the Huggies and felt that they didn't do as well as the BJ's brand.

Diapers and formula are a great gift idea. :yay:

I'd suggest getting away from the Ready to Feed stuff.. that sounds like $$$$$. Formula isn't cheap as it is, and mixing it yourself really isn't a chore, and no matter where you are, there is always water to be had.. especially these days, all the gas stations have bottled water even.

I don't kow if it is more expensive, but it sure sounds like it would be.

I bet you're surprised I even knew what kind of formula he was eating..

ANd if you've ever seen our "little" pig, $10 savings a can is astronomical!!

yeah yeah
The ready to use stuff IS expensive. You could get a BIG can of the similac advance- at bj's and get WAY more out of that- then the ready to use. I mean- the ready to use is good for when you are out- and keep a can in the diaper bag or something- but- otherwise- its not worth it when you are at home.

I forgot to add....I have tried every single brand of diapers you could think of...

For my oldest, we use Pampers Pull Ups, just b/c he likes them and they won't rip like the generic brands of Pull Ups do.

For the twins who are stillin regular diapers, I have to use Pampers Cruisers. I DO buy the BJ's brand for during the day as they are only $18.99 per box. We have to use Pampers at night. Pampers are $34.99 for a box. Huge price difference....

As they get older I am hoping to switch completely to BJ's brand as I do like them better than Target/WalMart, etc...

What are the BJs comparible ones to the cruisers called? My daughter uses the Cruisers. I'm thinking I'll get her a gift called night-time and one called Day-time

Not sure about the BJs brand formula swap though....i wonder who makes their formula? I know Purina makes their Dog Food in the green bag.

Excellent input everyone!! and itsBob..i say again...you're the GrandBob of all GrandBobs. You go Guy!

What size does the baby wear? BJ's just has different colored boxes for different sizes. My twins are wearing size 5's, so it's the GREEN box. There is no BJ's brand of the Cruiser, just a regular diaper, I guess you could compare it to the Pamper's Baby Cry which is just their standard diaper....The cruisers are stretchier.

Also, don't forget to look at all the coupons when you get into BJ's (they always have piles of them) as they ALWAYS have a coupon for $3.00 off their brand and alot of times you can find a discount on the Pampers as well. Same goes for the formula.

When my mother offers to buy us diapers, she gets overwhelmed in the diaper isle!! There are so many different brands, sizes, etc!!
