Best place to buy maternity clothes?

I don't need them yet (only 11 weeks along) and will put off having to wear them as long as possible. :lmao: When the time comes that I have to shop for maternity clothes, where does everyone recommend shopping for cute clothes in the somd area? Does Old Navy have a decent selection in the stores? Or are there any good websites that have nice clothes?

Hubby and I went out to brunch yesterday and saw 4 very pregnant women. That started our conversation about maternity clothes. I quickly realized that I should start looking around because it may be hard for me to find clothes that make me feel good about the big belly I've soon have. :yikes:

Ross had cute ones and they were very inexpensive. And everything held up really well.
I got a bunch of stuff from there but tsometimes you'll find stuff and some times you won't.

Old Navy was ok. They had some cute things.

Motherhood was awesome and more expensive. THe jeans are worth it. I loved the jeans. The shirts shrunk even on a medium heat and I'm not one to hang dry my clothes.

Thanks! I hadn't thought about Ross.

Ross, TJMax, Khols, and Motherhood to name a few.
Motherhood clothes shrink really bad!!!

Sometimes you can find some good things at the thrift stores too...

Or look on the classifieds?

Congrats on the pregnancy!

I know someone with some used ones for sale. If you're interested PM me.

I went clothes shopping this weekend - at 14 weeks I look about 20 weeks and am so popping!

I got some tops at Penney's and at Kohl's. And I got some pants from Motherhood Maternity. Actually - they were shorts. I need some because I'm headed on vacation in 2 weeks and don't want to stuck in stretch shorts! MM is expensive - but I got lucky because the summer stuff was on clearance! My daughter was too antsy by time I got to Old Navy - so I looked a little, but didn't have time to weed through everything.

For my first pregnancy, I got a lot from WalMart and Target. Burlington has a decent supply (at least they did last time around). My sister did well on e-bay, too!

Popping already, huh? That's what twins will do to ya! I think I got pregnant at a good time because I won't need summer maternity clothes. I should be able to "squeeze into" most of my capris/shorts for the rest of summer, into fall. So I should only have to buy fall/winter clothes, I assume. I will admit that a couple of pairs of pants/capris will soon be put away, unable to fit around my belly because I can feel it expanding. :ohwell:

Where are you going on vacation? You sure deserve a vacation, that's for sure. :huggy:

Thanks! :huggy: We're headed to the Outer Banks for week. I'm so excited to go - I could soooo use a week away!

A second (or more) pregnancy makes you pop sooner, too! (You'll find that out your next time around!) To help you squueze a little longer. . . the popular solution on the parenting board I post to says to use rubber bands to make pants go longer! Loop through the button hole - around the button and voila! Just be sure to wear a long shirt! :lmao:

Thanks, I heard about the rubber band solution and also the "belly band" thingy. Again, the band also looks best with a long shirt. :lmao:

Sounds like a great vacation you have planned. Hubby & I have never been there. We're probably the only ones around here who haven't, but we've only been here less than a year. Sounds like a lot of somd peeps go there to get away. We're trying to get up to Long Island for 3 or 4 days to visit my family next month sometime. I wish we could go longer but hubby switched jobs in May and really can't ask for a week off just yet. I could leave him here but that would be kinda rude.

When I was pregnant YEARS ago there was a maternity botique in the town my OB was in. I came across this line of maternity undergarment, Bravado, I still have my "maternity thongs" for the next time, but I must say the nursing bras are the best, I gave them to a friend.

The Bella Band is great. Ingrid & Isabel Bella Band - TummyStyle.com has Stylish Maternity Clothes and Nursing Clothes by Japanese Weekend, Majamas, Maternal America and 1 In The Oven
I used this for a long time and then when I was in between my clothes and maternity clothes I would wear it over the maternity pants if they were still a bit to big. Even after I had baby I used it.

I got my pants from Old Navy, they were the only ones I could find long lenght w/o over paying. My tops I had a few from old navy, Target, and Mother Hood. I also brought the new in style babydoll (not Maternity) shirts from JcPenny for the first half of my pregnancy. They were also good for after I had the baby.

Why me??
I have bought all my clothes from all of the above. I am 6 1/2 months prego and growing everyday it feels like. I have even borrowed clothes from some of my girls friends. My tops I get mostly from Target ( not Maternity ) just buy them extra large!

Congrats!

My Fiancee bought two of those belly band things from the motherhood store, and she absolutely loves them! She says they're really comfy and work pretty well.

Wow! Welcome to the pregnant club!! :howdy:

I'm not in maternity clothes just yet but i have gone to mother hood in the mall and bought this band like thing that goes around your pants so you don't have to button your pants to put pressure on the baby. I must say....its is one of the best things ever invented. i can still wear my pants and it holds my pants up without having to button my pants. It comes in three colors, black, white and like a khaki color. I have black and white and LOVE them both. Try checking out Target they might have some cute things...

Love Bella Bands and Ann Taylor Loft

I will definitely reccommend the Bella Bands for maternity, especially if you are having a winter baby, they are great for support and a little warmth in the winter. Also, Ann Taylor Loft has a maternity line which is simple and nice, you can look online and they run discounts all the time! I got most of my maternity clothing from them for less than $15 a piece. Also, if you are plus sized (or almost, like I was), I went to Lane Bryant online and got some great pants (I didn't like thier shirts) in size 14 for like $5 a pair last fall/winter.

Best Wishes on your pregnancy and enjoy that beautiful belly!
