Best Price on Sheds?

I purchased a shed from the Amish shed place off rt 235 in California, MD. I bought an almost new 10 x 12 Cape Cod with optional vinyl siding, dormer, dormer door, 11 lite door upgrade, B windows, gable vents
for $2000 delivered and I received it in 4 days vice 6 weeks! They discounted $1000 off for the floor model!

Is that Shed Time?

I went searching from Waldorf to Mechanisville in April 2010 and out of all the places I saw, the best price for what I wanted was I.N.S. Sheds (Issac N. Stoltzfus) 26100 Mechanicsville Rd. They are Amish, but they did call me to let me know when they were going to deliver it. I got a 10x16 with a loft, window and front door and a stronger wood floor for $2,600. Not sure of his prices now, but I love my shed.

That's who I ended up buying from. They do have a phone but they only dial out. Nice guy. I ended up buying a 12 X 18 with vinyl siding (have to satisfy the HOA), double doors, two windows, vent for $3400 delivered and set up. It was A LITTLE over my budget. But I know I'll be getting a quality shed. Should be ready in three weeks.

He's about four miles or so down Mechanicsville Road on the left. Has a sign on the road that says sheds, eggs, and geese or something along those lines. Nice guy. He has some some sheds in stock that I think he'll knock 3% off of. I have a price sheet if anyone wants a price.

Can you build one yourself? They're not that hard with basic power tools and free plans on the internet. I built my 16'x16' barn roof with a loft on 2x10 floor joists for around $1600. I'm sure a comparable Amish shed would run around $3500 - $4500.
Very NICE!

I'm looking at doing the same thing, it can't be that difficult can it? And it sounds like fun to me, bring little bubba out to help.

Looks nice. Did you use the prebuilt rafters?

I made the trusses. I sketched out what I needed on paper, marked out the trusses on the floor, figured my angles, then screwed a jig to the floor. I pre cut all pieces and reenforced joints with construction cement, 1/2 plywood plates and 1" air staples (very strong).

All dimensions maximize the use of wood with very little waste-

16x16 floor- 8 sheets of plywood & 2x10x16 floor joists
4' tall, 6' top/4' side roof trusses- 2x4x10
6' Walls- 16 sheets of exterior plywood (left over 2' pieces for top of front/back walls, the roof and a dog house)

A tad heftier than the roadside ones!

No plans, I just started building. My friend and I did this one in 3 weekends. This is our 3rd shed we've built and the biggest. The first was at my other house a 10'x16', then his a 10'x12'.

I'm not for hire...sorry.

Stad, where did you get supplies from? 84 lumber or Lowes? My husband is looking to do a large shed too...
