best seafood restaurants

I have some family coming into town for the weekend, and they want to go to a good seafood restaurant (one that is not all that pricey either). What are some recommendations/favorites?

Depends on what kind of seafood you want. If you want to pick crabs, I think Seabreeze is the place. If you want a nicer dinner, I'd go with Clark's Landing.

What county are you in?

St. Mary's. I would say no to the picking crabs, I don't think they'd know much about that (family coming from PA), but who knows......

I'm not all that familiar with the area here, where is Clark's Landing?

If you're coming from Mechanicsville area, take Rt. 235 South through the Hollywood light. Make left on Clarke's Landing Road; follow to the end; restaurant on the left.

I had people at my house Saturday from Western Virginia. They had never had crabs before. We were calling them crab virgins. :lmao: Watching them pick crabs was like watching Forest Gump trying to escape from a straight jacket.

I wouldn't suggest putting them through that torture, although I was laughing my butt off. :roflmao:

I take Catt with me and act helpless. She will then pick all the crabs and just give you the meat. Boy figured it out too. :yay:

Captains Pat's in Lexington Park. Basic seafood, good service, VERY inexpensive.

Capt. Pats is Pretty good and not too expensive. I would prefer the Peir in Solomons.
I have never had good food at Solomon's Pier. I didn't matter who ran the place at the time.

Solomons Pier is consistently iffy. The food has varied inconsistently between moderately good and nearly inedible.

Captains Table is good.

Dry Dock is great but seriously big bucks.

Naughty Gull is good.

Stoney's is excellent food but the atmosphere tends to be a bit noisy.

CD Cafe is good, but be there on time (they begin serving dinner at 5:30) or you'll wait a long time for a table.

China Harbor is good and a wee bit lower prices than most other places.

Jethro's has been good the coupla times we've been there.

I have been here nearly 17 years and I have never once had a good dining experience there. Although, it was fun as a night club (after dinner) back in the day. :lmao:
