Well, I was a police dispatcher for 12 years. It wasn't uncommon for each and every officer to leave the station and run a call. They are not suppose to leave the station unarmed, but they did numerous times. I'm sure a civilian, unarmed clerk/dispatcher was in the station, but there is nothing he or she could have done.

Sad story, but had she exercised her 2nd Amendment rights in Florida, she could've tried to defend herself, instead of trying to get the police to protect her.

I agree. But saying that noone was at the station is false. Again, the media tarded it up again...
