I wish you much luck. My PCP sent me to see a hematologist/oncologist, a couple months ago. I'm low on iron... had a couple surgeries for recurring metastatic colon cancer myself. It's now in my abdominal muscles.
Anyway.... When I was diagnosed only 2% of those diagnosed with Colon Cancer survived 10 years. Well, I made the 2% club. I still have cancer... but I'm alive...
So, here's some advice.... take liquid iron... take Sena laxatives... and take Docusate Sodium stool softeners... like my surgeon back in Calvert Memorial told me back then.... keep it soft and smooth.
Avoid gummies... they are constipating... and enjoy pot.... It's an anticarcinogen that I've been using daily since I was diagnosed [when I had to find it and keep it on the downlow].
Get a flat rock and keep it in the freezer... it will help when you start getting leg cramps... a cold rock used to massage the cramping muscles will take it away pretty quickly. AND... put some rice in the foot of a sock and tie the sock.... 30-60 seconds in the microwave and you will have a nice heating pad for the area around your port. You can also put a damp washrag in the freezer and use it like the rock. [It freezes... I also suggest this for teething babies too... biting on a frozen rag is good for the gums.]
I hope you get to join the 2% club too!
