Birthday PArty Ideas

ME and the BF are planning little mans 3rd birthday. It very close to Halloween and there aren't going to be enough kids to warrant going to One stop or chuckee cheese. I went through my list and there will be like 10 kids at the most. The oldest kid that would be there is 5. We're going to do a halloween themed party for him. I can't think of activites to do. I was thinking they could carve a pumpkin, eat cake, watch him open presents. Thats were my ideas stop. I can't think of anything more I suppose I've been thinking to hard about it. Any ideas of fun things to do?

Do you really want the 5 and under crowd carving a pumpkin? And if the adults do it, the kids will get bored before it's done....

Buy some small pumpkins and some paint. They even have kits in Walmart and similar places that have like a half dozen pumpkins and some paint, just for groups like yours.

I think you're right about that. I didn't even think about painting them! I will have to look into that. TY

At one point the Hollywood Fire Department would do little kid b-day parties at the fire house. The kids get plastic fire hats and get to see the trucks and stuff. Give them a call and see if they still do it. That would be perfect for a small grouup of 3 year olds! Do a search for the Hollywood Maryland Fire Department to find their website for contact info.

I didn't even know that! I will have to check into that. TY

I think a pirate treasure hunt is fun, to find their favor bags. Have BF dress up as a Pirate and lead the kids through it!

THat is so funny I'm just picturing him dressed up talking like a pirate and as fun as that would be, he's to much of a stick in the mud for that. l:killingme But that would be soooo much fun! OOOHhh Geek you gave me an IDEA! I could put the favor bags in ziploc bags and then have them in a bowl of "brains" and "eyeballs"? Or is that too old for them? Now i'm not so sure

What county are you in?
Check out Get on the Wagon - Fun Fall & Halloween Activities in Southern Maryland for the Whole Family if you want to go out and do something fun.
If you want to stay home you can paint pumpkins rather then carving, bobbing for apples, make scarecrows for them to take home, if you have a lot of land you can do your own hay ride... theres a TON of stuff you can do at home!

You could put up Halloween decorations and get a fun cake and do some of the activities I mentioned before :) If you want to do scarecrows go to the thrift store for the clothes.. its cheap that way!!

We have a Oct child also.

Try halloween themed tatoos, they go on quick & extras for goodie bags.
Have the kids come in costume and have a parade.
Painting pumpkins is great for that age.
We've done trick-or-treat bags as the goodie bags filled with lidded cups w/ straws (put hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows in each) and include a glow stick. Make brownies and include one or two each in a halloween candy bag. The parents seemed to like this because its useful things and not full of candy.

Whatever cake you get or make dye the inside green!!, the kids love the surprise.

I was thinking about the halloween sostume but it stopped when I was thinking about carving pumpkins cause I was worried they might get it dirty before Halloween. But with the painting I was thinking that it would be ok. The inside of the cake green would be awesome!! I would never have thought of that! And the hot chocolate is good cause it's gonna start getting chilly. Thank you so much for the great ideas!!
The BF told me it was my idea and to run with it arrgggg. I want some input! I was questing what time to have it. I was thinking like 12 or 4. I'm not sure cause I don't want to interfere with naptimes or how long a birthday party should take. Can you tell this is my first birthday party? :lmao:

Paint and Halloween costume= mess!! I would avoid that but you could play a game lke... wrap mom in TP and make her a mummy :)

what day is the party on? Do you plan on serving lunch or just snacks? those are 2 important factors with kids parties

If you do it at 1 you can serve little sandwiches and fruit but you have to serve some kind of lunch... this party is gonna be breeze.. need an intinerary?

 Don't tempt me. I guess I just need to sit down and focus, it would help if I wasn't at work. I keep getting distracted. I just want him to have fun.
