Birthday PArty Ideas

Little ol' Me
At our halloween party we did scarecrows with the kids. I went to the thrift store and got baby outfits (nothing over a dollar) (go on 1/2 off days if you can) and let each kid pick what they wanted, this way the scarecrow was there doll size and they could take it home with them..

we also did a scavenger hunt (maybe too young)
Do you have mini garden trailer hook it up to the lawn mower, put hay in it, the kids love this (actually this is how I have taken my kids trick ot treating the last several years. picture it John deere hay ride :lmao:

It's going to be on a Saturday. I don't know! I am in wayyyy over my head. I didn't even think of the food yet. Crap. I guess snacks. Parents are going to be there to so I guess snacks and then martins rolls with lunch meat and make your own sandwhich type thing and then fruits and veggies.

You'll be fine. Figure the amount you want to spend then decide on food.
If you can't afford to feed them then put out chips-n-dip and word your invitation please join us for "cake and ice cream" from say 2-4p.

Immediately let the kids paint the pumpkins as they show and set aside to dry.
Leave out a bucket of crayons and a large piece of paper for coloring.
They can paint in their costumes if you cover them, take old adult t-shirts and cut the back open, instant smock. Get together several toys in one central area and just let them play - outside is best. Once all are arrived get them together for the parade. Either eat or cut the cake(depending), open gifts and give out gift bags. Most will leave at 4pm.

I was thinking how great it would be to have smocks but I was thinking I can't afford that and why would I need that many smocks again? But that is a great idea! I'll be going through mr's closet this month  Thank you for your help!

I need to find one of those! Ours would be a cub cadet hay ride  def not as cool. I think I have some leads on finding a trailer, but this def in the plans. lol Any excuse for the BF to ride around on his lawn mower is a good idea to him! :lmao:
OUr family does enough scavenger hunts, even on Christmas. Us cousins pick names to get gifts for and then the aunts hide them and then come up with the hints and it's one big ta-do and I think once a year is enough!
I like scarecrow idea being little ones I wouldn't have to get as many bales of straw, as I would need to if we were doing toddler size ones. Do you think the parents will get upset about a scarecrow baby doll loosing straw in their house?

You can do a veggie platter and buy the ranch dip that you mix w/sour cream and make the dip orange or green. Whichever you think is more funky. You can do deviled eggs and put a black olive in the middle to be eye balls. Pigs in a blanket and put little labels on the food that make them fun and scary for kids to eat. Apple cider or hot chocolat could be witches stew or frog potion..That kind of thing.

I think the scarecrow and painting pumpkins are a great idea for kids. You could get a pumpkin pinata or something(they have the pull strings for the little ones)? Crafts are always great for kids, get a pack of the round balls and have them make witches heads or scary pumpkins. You could get black and orange gift bags from the dollar store and buy some glitter or decorations, colored pens or something and have them scribble on the bags and they can use that for Halloween(wonderful artwork).

Good Luck..I have my sons 1st bday party tomorrow. I have been going through this for the past month lol...Have a great party.

I recently did a birthday party for my 2 and 3 yr olds. We had a string pinata - very popular (we gave each kid a bag and then they all pulled a string at the same time). We also did this blow up pin the tail on the donkey - if the kid made to the donkey and back they got a prize out of the prize bucket. You can find this at oriental trading.

Good luck!

I have heard good things about Oriental Trading I think I'm going to check into them for some stuff. Thank you for the good luck and the tips!

Thank you very much! That is great! I'm def going to be using some of those!

Just a heads up, was in Target on Sunday and they have assorted halloween party favors. Seems reasonably priced to me, but they'll be gone very quickly.
I'd head over there ASAP.

Thanks for the tip! I was going to do all that stuff either this afternoon or tomorrow. Now I know where to start! Thanks!
