It's BJ's in SMC, right?

Do you guys use this?

I got a Sam's Club membership through Soulless Inc and didn't think I'd use it for just me, but I go at least once a month for stuff I use a lot of that won't go bad before I can get to it. I wouldn't buy 5lbs of fresh broccoli or anything, but I buy pasture raised eggs out the wazoo ($6 for 18ct). Meat, laundry pods, frozen veggies, etc, it's significantly cheaper than at Publix or even Walmart. I just crunched the numbers of what the membership costs vs. how much I save on groceries and it's overwhelmingly worth the fee as long as I don't get sucked into junk food impulse buys. :jet:

I am so very blessed
We have a BJ's membership, and we just picked up a Costco membership, too.

I love the convenience of buying in bulk, because, well.....that's who I am and what I do. 😊

I hate these places because it is so hard to come out of there under $400. :nomoney:

I don't compare prices, but I definitely should. We spend far too much money on food.

I spend around $100 per trip. Today I got:

2 18ct eggs
5 lbs ground beef
chocolate/seed/nut snack clusters
4 lbs butter
1 rack BBQ ribs (I know, I know :blushing: )
3 lbs bacon
3 lbs sliced cheese

Came to $91 & change.

When the boy was little, the cost of diapers and wipes alone made it worth the cost.

Most of the time now, it’s stuff like serving trays, sterno, water bottles. In summer for pool chemicals.

It’s worth it but JUST for the niche items. I don’t shop there regularly.

I have both BJs and Costco. I joined Costco because of their hearing kiosk. They provide exceptional customer service and high quality hearing aids for really good prices. If 100% prefer Costco over BJs and wish it were closer than a trip to Brandywine. If they were closer, I would not belong to BJs.

As others have stated, paper products and bulk have good prices. When my Bug was a baby, we had a Costco membership mostly for diapers, wipes and formula, but the trip to Waldorf was a PITA. Once BJs opened, we dropped the other.

The biggest money savers are paper products, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels.

You know what? I started to say I don't have room to store them....but that's not true. I have all kinds of high cupboards that I never use because I can't reach them without a stepstool. That would be the perfect place to store tp and paper towels.

:yay:

Our BJs also has some fairly cheap clothing - I sometimes buy stuff like belts and socks. My wife’s mom before she passed needed stuff like massive boxes of Kcups and - special - stuff. When my son made Eagle, they were the best place for a cake with his photo on it.

And when we have a big outdoor party, stuff like dogs, burgers, buns, condiments, napkins etc are great IF you’re buying a lot.

We did join CostCo years ago when my wife was doing Keto. The thing with Costco is, they just plain have more stuff. I swear if you can IMAGINE it, they probably have it. Every keto product she wanted was there.

We just didn’t have the need to drive to Brandywine so often. Ditto Sam’s Club, although years ago at the office, someone maintained a massive “snack store” with stuff they bought in bulk at Sam’s. And they still turned a profit.
