If anyone is interested - BJ's recalled their pigears. According to the letter sent to the house, Salmonella has been found in the stock and the shelves were emptied.

I will update when I find yesterday's letter with more accurate verbage.

Yeah, I got that letter too. It figures after my dogs polished off the bag! They haven't been sick so I guess I got lucky! Thanks for the headsup though!

"Taint" (ed) ain't always a good thing....

Thanks but I don't use them. They really aren't the best treats..neither are the cow hooves. Many dogs don't digest them and they can cause intestinal blockages.

The last bag I got, my girls ate 2 of them and were sick for a couple days....vet said that it was something they ate and I narrowed it down to the pig ears....I threw the rest of the bag out that day

this was about a month or so ago....I got the notice in the mail yesterday

I've never used with them with the Boxers but I used to get them for my Golden Retriever and Lab. Both would puke them every time...same with the cow hooves, not to mention the awful smell of the hooves when they were wet. I did some research and found that neither were recommended treats.

I got the letter yesterday also and still have about half a bag left. My dog absolutely loves them and has no problem digesting him. Also the bag I have has a different date then the recall ones but I will probably throw it out anyway and I will call the number they gave me.
