Who gets up crazy early and goes out into the madness??

:howdy: I do and I LOVE it.....

I absolutely HATE to shop. So, I won't be up early and out the door on Black Friday.

I went last year but only because I was forced. I took three steps into Wal*Mart, turned around and walked right back out! :dead:

I did enjoy shopping at B&BW's at 0600 though.

My mom and I did the same thing when we went to Wal-mart.

That is a very good deal on flat screens. The book store has some great black friday sales. I just have to get there earlie enough to beat the crowd.

Has anyone ever hit Best Buy first thing on Black Friday?? I have always hit Wal-Mart first, and it is bad but not HORRIBLE....This year I think I need to hit best buy first and just wondering how bad it will be? Like should I get there at like 4 or if I get there when they open (5) it will be ok???

Yep, but we were in Roanoke last year, we got there at 2:30 AM, and we were like 98th in line. The people in front had been there since 8:30 PM the night before, and someone near the front had actually set up a pup tent on the side walk. I was on the phone with a friend that was in line at the Waldorf Best Buy, and the line was a lot longer than that when they got there at 4:00-ish (I believe). I think by then the line was around the building.

It was a freezing 28 degrees and windy, so we were pretty miserable. At about 4:30 or 5:00, they started passing out tickets for the hot stuff on sale (we were there for computers--and we got them), and people were running up from the back of the line and snatching them from the employees (but they let them, which pissed everyone else off). Right before the doors opened, a huge mob of people in the parking lot--not in line--pushed into the doorway, basically cutting everyone off that had been in line for hours. It was a pretty bad setup and management could have handled that a lot better. My husband wouldn't let some dude cut in front of him, and he got slammed by this guy's cart in the back of his legs. It was pretty ugly.

So after that mess last year, I wonder if I'm up for that madness again this year. Maybe it was just a Roanoke thing, but we've never had problems like that around here, believe it or not, and I've been doing the early morning thing for years now. I mean, there have been people who try to cut in line, but they always have gotten shouted down by the people who've been waiting and that's worked.

I'd be pretty P.O. if I waited in line that long and some tool tried cutting at the last minute.
