This is in Denver. I can't image Mayor Hickenblooper being so upset with this. Maybe because the singer didn't ask his permission.

very confusing.
the races want to be viewed as one, yet every chance they get they try to separate themselves from others.

That was really arrogant of the singer. I would never imagine showing up to a concert and singing something I wasn't hired to sing. I don't think it was political, though. "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" is commonly used alongside the national anthem in some county ceremonies I've been to. To replace the anthem all together without clearing the agenda first, that's just bad tact as a performer, not as an activist of some kind.

I will probably be shunned for this statement but I believe african americans are the most racist people on the planet, and yet caucasions are the ones who constantly get labled for it.

Gotta have their own Chamber of Commerce, Miss America, TV channel, college fund, etc.... At least they don't want to be segregated.

Don't really know about the chamber of commerce, and B.E.T is probably the worst thing that happened to black people.

But the United Negro College fund was created back in the 40's when most white were not lining up to offer scholarships to blacks. The Black Miss America started back in the 60's to as a form of protest, because of the lack of blacks in the "Regular" Miss American pageant.

And it really bothers me when people say "blacks have to have their own" or "blacks think ____." Do you think there's some kind of big forum meeting that every black person in the country attends and we decide what our common position is on something? :lmao: (Just 'cause some people want a separate Black Miss America pageant doesn't mean the rest of us do.)

You feel this way because you are racist. Southern MD is turning out to be the most racist place I've ever lived. This forum is more than substantiates this claim.

Just look at the African American national anthem someone posted... We don't all speak that way and it's racist to imply that we do. I'm black, I'm proud and I'm very well educated. Isn't that amazing!

How can you say the races want to viewed as one? Who made you the official spokes person as to how the different races want to be viewed? You may want to recant by saying that each race has members who want to be viewed as one!

It's no wonder we still have so much racial tension in our country....

So what there are tons of other examples that black people want to have "black only" or damn near close to it.

Now, when I say that I know that there are alot of blacks that would be all for doing away with them but they exist none the less and no one will speak up against it or you are labeled a racist or uncle Tom ect...

Are you black? How would you know this? Yes you use the word probably but what's your point? Do you not recognize the fact that many black folks like myself have different tastes in entertainment than most other americans? We (as in all of us) have network TV, PPV, Movie networks ETC which play subject matter to please mainly white america. If you want a W.E.T which plays all white entertainmenmt because you can't get enough of it on every other channlel that exists than band together and fight for it. I could give a rats a@@.

I have the colert filter on my set.
it changes the skin tones to white so I dont have to look at colored people while enjoying my pickled pigs feet and bud.

I must admit that it does make some of the afro sheen commercials look a bit strange, but other than that? it works perfectly.

Funniest damn thing I've read all day. :lmao:

I do just the opposite and turn the color and brightness all the way down to make everything look black. I've also purchased one of those voice changing devices to make everyone sound like Barry White and James Earl Jones. Come in handy when BET is broadcasting re-runs of rerun.

There are a ton of societies, scholarship funds, colleges ect... that are considered to be exclusively black. Maybe they don't out right bar whites and others from them but they might as well.

You are lying to yourself if you can't see the difference in acceptabilty when you put "black" on something vs. "white".
