I was in Myrtle Beach and they had a lot of Walmart grocery stores. I wish one would open in the McKay's at Leonardtown.
Walmart Neighborhood Market? Nice. Better than the super stores.. if just wanting to shop for food.

Wawa Closes Two Stores In Philadelphia Due To Crime. The Mayor Says It’s ‘Not A Bad Omen At All.’

“Despite reducing hours and investing in additional operational measures, continued safety and security challenges and business factors have made it increasingly difficult to remain open in these two locations,” Wawa spokeswoman Lori Bruce said in a statement to the Philadelphia Inquirer. She added that the “difficult decision” occurred after careful deliberation and efforts to overcome “external operating challenges.”

Kenney later insisted that the closures are not indicative of a broader decline in Philadelphia. “I don’t think it’s a bad omen at all,” he told reporters at a Friday event. “These two particular places have unique issues that had to be dealt with in a way that was more expensive for them to keep it open.”

The closures, however, follow an incident in which nearly 100 young people ransacked a Wawa location in northeastern Philadelphia last month. Viral video shows the teenagers pushing over shelves, throwing items across the store, and shoplifting snacks. Group robberies have increased across the United States over the past two years, with some retailers introducing new security efforts and convenience chains such as Walgreens closing locations.

Neighborhoods are self red lining due to lawlessness. Pretty soon entire areas will have zero commercial businesses except bailbonds men and liquor stores. So you can either stop & frisk, or you can let it all go to crap.

The mayor isn't fooling anyone. These store closings are the miner's canary. The citizens of Philly need to call out their mayor for his bullshitting them.

I remember driving past the boarded up stores and businesses in DC, after the 68 riots.

if the mayor and city council don’t get it, **** them.

Philadelphia should’ve voted better.

Indianapolis too?

"I don’t feel unsafe. I believe that you know, we do have a lot of homeless down here, but they pretty much stay to their selves," Chrystal Chadwick said. "We don’t have a lot of people coming in asking to use the restroom. If they do, they buy something; I let them use the restroom."

Starbucks closing because of safety concerns yet other business owners say there are no safety concerns but then point out the homelessness problem…

Just sneakin' around....

Back in the 80s I had a conference in Dallas, TX. Even back then, I said the very same thing. The instant you went 2 feet away from a nice place, it was nothing but liquor stores and bail bondsmans.

Video Shows Man Stomp On Older Woman’s Head And Rob Her While She’s Unconscious

In the video, the suspect exits the store and “attacks and disorients victim #1.” The suspect then lunges at the second victim, who appears to be trying to get into a car. The suspect throws her down to the ground and grabs her by the neck as she attempts to twist free. He then violently stomps on the woman’s head, knocking her unconscious, and robs her as she lies motionless on the sidewalk.

Did the "suspect" give his permission to be videoed? You know, like those Philly drug addicts in the Mexican anti-drug video.
