THIS kind of protest - I don't get. I mean, it gets attention, I get that. Ten people carrying signs doesn't make the news - ten people blocking the interstate DOES.

I get it. It's like you said, it gets attention.

That is literally the only objective when people do crap* like that.

But one thing it doesn't do - it doesn't win people over. If people didn't like you before, they will HATE you now.

The objective is to garner attention and in doing so, pissing off people that don't agree with them. The people that already agree with them will continue to agree with them, and they will very loudly say on Facebook and Twitter how they don't mind waiting in traffic for a protest they agree with. And, stuff like "Good, they should block traffic". I see that ignorant crap* all the time.

They're not trying to win people over. They're trying to impress their cohort on social media and screw over objecters. That's it.

I just saw Kat Timpf on air - and her sentiment is the same as mine - this typically just pisses people off - and I feel for that poor guy who will have to GO BACK TO JAIL for missing his job.

Next time the conservatives need a good protest they should block the roads leading to the pot dispensaries in/around San Fransisco. Maybe if they are forced to abstain for long enough they will sober up and see how shite the city has become.
