Blossom: I still breastfeed my 3 & 1/2 year old

Yes, a three year old should have moved on to more solid foods, however many parents continue to supplement their diet by letting children drink milk. It is very beneficial for the child, anyone can find peer-reviewed, credible research backing that statement by doing a simple google search.

Obviously, I don't see anything wrong with it either way but if they're pumping the milk, how is that any different than drinking cow's milk (except that it's much better for the child, nutritionally and immunologically to breast feed, of course)? That should negate any argument about the emotion behind actually nursing the child.

And you can put milk in a sippy cup instead of using a bottle.

Shouldn't the kid be eating real food at 3 years old?

And drinking from a CUP!

I nursed my son and I don't see anything wrong with mom pumping breast milk and putting it in a cup for her kid because of the nutritional value, but breastfeeding a walking, talking pre-schooler is just creepy IMO. Then again, who wants to pump for 2 or 3 years?!

Basically, my point is that I don't think they are bad parents for breast feeding just like I don't think people that choose not to breast feed are bad parents and I don't think looking down upon them benefits anyone in any way.
