BREAKING: NYC SUES TRUMP ADMIN OVER $80M MIGRANT FUNDING CLAWBACK

New York City is suing Trump and federal agencies after FEMA reclaimed $80 million originally allocated for migrant services.

The lawsuit, filed in Southern District of New York, names Trump, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem as defendants.

Mayor Adams calls the move an "unlawful money grab," while the Trump administration defends it as a reversal of sanctuary city funding.

The legal battle highlights ongoing federal-state tensions over immigration policy.

Judge Dale Ho just slammed NYC voters by extending the Eric Adams legal circus

Federal Judge Dale Ho threw yet another spanner into this year’s mayoral race Friday by kicking the can on whether he’ll force a trial of Mayor Eric Adams even though the feds want to drop the charges.

More, he named powerhouse attorney Paul Clement to make the case for going ahead — and gave him ’til March 4 to file his brief, with a followup hearing March 14.

The trial had been scheduled to start April 21, and so finish in time for the June 14 start of early voting in the June 24 Democratic primary — but if Clement convinces Ho the case should go ahead, that timeline’s still out the window as a whole new prosecution team would have to be assembled and given time to prepare.

Meanwhile, petitioning to make the primary ballot starts Monday, running from Feb. 25 to April 3.

Nearly five years after the 2020 BLM-Antifa riots and the woke insanity from local Democrats, Portland, Ore. is now in an "urban doom loop." High-paying taxpayers are leaving the city, businesses continue to shut down and tax revenue is drying up.

Portland also ranks second to last in 81 cities for outside investment in a survey by the Urban Land Institute.

Meanwhile, Oregon's governor @GovTinaKotek says her priority during the second Trump presidency is stockpiling abortion pills and protecting the transitioning of minors and allowing males to play in female sports.

NEW: Per multiple federal law enforcement sources, anti ICE activists, which have been disrupting & live streaming ICE operations in the LA area in recent days, have now put up posters doxing SoCal ICE & HSI agents, revealing their faces, names, & phone numbers. I’m told ICE is aware and investigating. I’ve redacted one poster, which translates roughly to to the following:

"CAREFUL WITH THESE FACES"

"These armed agents work in Southern California. ICE and HSI racially terrorize and criminalize entire communities with their policies. They kidnap people from their homes and from the streets, separating families and fracturing communities. Many people have died while locked up in jails, prisons, and detention centers."

"Possible execution/implementation measure/action 2/23/25".

(Appears to warn of possible ICE operation about to take place in this area today?)

It is unclear which activist group is posting these.

NEW: Illinois State audit reveals Governor JB Pritzker spent $1.6 billion on a healthcare program for illegal aliens. This was 200% more than originally planned. He highly underestimated the costs and the program was run incompetently.

Dem Governors Get Strategy for National Guard Deployment, Executive Orders to Resist Trump

The “Firewall for Freedom – Template Gubernatorial Executive Order” directs that “no state agency, employee, or agent may comply with a request for information or assistance if they have reason to believe the request is in furtherance of any investigation, arrest, prosecution, or other sanction of conduct initiated by federal authorities or out-of-state authorities.”

This includes no assistance to federal officials regarding “health care services … lawful under state law”; and no assistance to the federal government to “identify or apprehend a person in order to subject them to civil immigration detention, removal, or deportation proceedings,” or “to prosecute a person or persons for offenses related to immigration status.”

While the descriptions for “health care services” aren’t explicit, elsewhere in the documents, the group references abortion and “gender affirming care,” a phrase used to describe surgical sex operations.

“What leaps out is not just the sheer number of consultants being provided by donors for governors willing to serve the donors’ resistance agenda, but the functions they are serving: drafting executive orders, talking points, and white papers to assist in resistance advocacy … up to and including deploying the National Guard,” Chris Horner, a lawyer for Government Accountability and Oversight, told The Daily Signal.

In a Dec. 12 email to the staffs of governors’ offices, Emma Clough, special assistant to Governors Action Alliance CEO Julia Spiegel, wrote: “Please join for a briefing on executive actions governors can take to protect sensitive data and prepare for potential National Guard deployments.”

The model executive order on the National Guard says, “No assistance to deployments over objection of the office of the governor.” The draft order says state employees “shall provide no time, money, facilities, property, equipment, personnel, or other resources for purposes of: assistance to any National Guard unit of another state that is deployed to this state, if the Office of the Governor of [this state] has objected to such deployment.”

A Dec. 3 email from Spiegel to governors’ offices offers staff assistance, including a former Democrat Senate aide who “has offered white glove service to support staffing efforts at the state level (gov offices and agencies).” The guidance further says that American Civil Liberties Union national support staff would be available to help.

Illinois Runs a Scholarship That Excludes White Applicants. It Could Get the State’s Top Universities Defunded.

The program, Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI), was established by state law in 2004 and provides financial aid to "members of traditionally underrepresented minority groups" pursuing masters or doctoral degrees. Those groups include "African American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian American, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander," according to the program’s landing page.

Students apply to the program through their universities, each of which has an "institutional representative" who helps "verify ... that applicants for the fellowship meet all eligibility criteria." That structure means that participating institutions, which include the top public and private universities in the state, are directly involved in an application process that violates federal law, according to five attorneys who reviewed the program requirements.

"This isn’t a hard one," said Gail Heriot, a law professor at the University of San Diego and a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. "The program was illegal and unconstitutional since its inception."

Trump admin threatens to pull billions in federal funding unless MTA forks over NYC subway crime data: ‘Stepping in to restore order’

Get on board with subway safety or hop off the gravy train.

President Trump’s transportation chief demanded the MTA fork over data on plants to tackle subway crime and safety — or else risk losing federal funding, a letter obtained by The Post shows.

The nation’s largest transit agency needs to show it’s properly using federal tax dollars to ensure a crime-free commute, said US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

“The trend of violent crime, homelessness, and other threats to public safety on one of our nation’s most prominent metro systems is unacceptable,” he said in a statement. “After years of soft-on-crime policies, our Department is stepping in to restore order.”

Michigan Dentist Sues Gov Gretchen Whitmer's Administration Over Mandatory 'Implicit Bias Training'

Michigan dentist Kent Wildern has filed a lawsuit against Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer's administration, challenging the state's mandate requiring health care professionals to complete ideological training to keep their licenses.

"It is unconstitutional for Michigan to weaponize its licensing powers to force healthcare professionals to choose between their careers and submitting to ideological indoctrination," Wildern's attorney, Wilson Freeman of the Pacific Legal Foundation, wrote in a Tuesday press release.

"Moreover, Michigan's mandate for implicit bias training came from an unelected agency rather than the legislature, sidestepping any public debate on the issue," the attorney added.

Wildern's lawsuit comes as President Donald Trump ramps up his crackdown on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, which he has called "illegal and immoral discrimination programs," at the federal level. Trump has signed executive orders banning DEI programs across the federal bureaucracy and the military and has withheld millions in federal funding from a slew of universities for failing to abolish such programs.

The lawsuit targets a 2021 rule from Whitmer's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs that requires more than 400,000 health care workers in Michigan to complete implicit bias training for both initial licensure and any renewal. New applicants must complete two hours of implicit bias training before receiving their licenses, while renewing licensees must complete one hour each year.

Colorado Springs mayor wants ‘more raids’ after DEA arrests

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect the uncertainty around the detainment status of U.S. military members at the night club as a result of the raid.

(NewsNation) — A Colorado mayor says he is committed to the safety of his community and hopes to see more raids following Sunday’s arrest in Colorado City of more than 100 migrants allegedly in the United States illegally.

The DEA-led raid resulted in the detainment of 114 people allegedly in the country illegally. Investigators say there were 17 active-duty U.S. military members at the club, some of whom were providing armed security for the establishment. It’s unclear if they were detained after the raid.

Authorities also reportedly discovered methamphetamines and powdered drugs, including pink cocaine.

“I anticipate that there will be more arrests,” Mayor Yemi Mobolade told “NewsNation Now.” “I hope to see more raids happen in my city. This is not the first one.”
