Bob, 05 RT at Bobs...

Bob's BMW Motorcycles- Used Motorcycles

Sold and serviced at Bob’s BMW this is a great opportunity for a great bike at a great price that was recently traded in on a new RT. It features ABS brakes, heated grips, cruise control, power adjustable windscreen, accessory outlet, and heated seat controls and wiring. It’s a standard chassis that has been lowered with Wilburs shocks and converted to the factory (non-heated) one-piece low seat set-up along with the correct lowered centerstand. The factory low seat is not heated but can be custom converted to heat or the heated factory seats at additional cost. This bike also features a Remus exhaust (not the loud one), rear LED Police light, and FIAMM horns. It has an interesting history and is priced accordingly. At 2500 miles it received a new short block, basically a new motor, which was then broken in and serviced as new all here at Bob’s by one of out long term Master Certified BMW Technicians. We also went completely through the bike and it received a new fuel pump, did a full bi-annual sevice (all fluids), and installed the new Remus exhaust. Cosmetically and mechanically this thing is wonderful. If you are looking for a great deal on a new generation low RT, a 30” seat height, this is it.

What do you make of this???

No mention if it has a catalytic converter.

New short block and then a fuel pump already! What are those Krauts building these days!

Purty, it is. "Interesting history", my guess, means owned by someone most folks would find intersting. not NBA or NFL, given the attention to seat height, maybe the SO of a ball player. Local celebrity of some kind?

I was more interested in the engine thingy.

Or it was stolen and dumped in the Roanoke River and restored.

I am too. Haven't heard of any engine failures in the new(er) hexhead engines, and have seen a few online that have WELL over 100k miles on the same year RT/ engine without any major issues.

I'd like to hear the backstory.. I understand a lot of people are trading in their new RT's for the NEWER 10 RTs, so him trading a low mileage RT in wouldn't be a concern. Hell some are trading in their 09's for the new 10.

And yes, it has a Catalytic Converter and still has close to twice the horsepower as a comparatilvely sized NON-Catalytic Harley. (Does Harley still make bikes in the 1000 - 1999cc Range?)

Guess I need to make a phone call to Bobs and hear a story. :buddies:

Never seen it or read the book.
Are you saying its a bad bike?
Looks ok for a 1L bike!

You should so so, either one. The book is better, but the movie is acceptable if you dont have the time nor inclination for a 1,000 page read. Yes, the Ducati is a killer for a first bike. Not so much for the ride, its more benign than the super sports, but any drops will cost like body parts, yours, that is:)

Stop in some day, very rare I'm too busy to take a few minutes to chat. I'm literally about 30 feet away from the bike. I'll let you take a close up inspection.
