I used to read Sweet valley twins and Sweet valley high books. They were similar to babysittersclub. the high school ones were a little older.

My daughter is loving the "Nancy Drew" books. I think it's so funny because she thinks they are new!
Also, they have Hannah Montana books out now and the girls love them!
I loved Hardy Boys too. But, I read Judy Blume when I was 9 and 10 so she's probably ahead of that.I was always a Hardy Boys fan myself. I also loved anything Judy Blume wrote when I was about that age.
Plus I think girls nowadays are more "mature" than they were in my day.
On average girls in my day started their period when they were 13. I was almost 14. Now they are starting them around 10 and 11.
Um...yeah. My mom would have popped me in the mouth and chained me up.I remember that day well. It was the summer between 7th and 8th grade (I was almost 13). I told my mom "I can have a baby now!" That got me a big to th back of my head. I didn't mean that I was going to try to get pregnant right then. Guess I should have chose my wording better.
Me, my mom, and my 2 sisters started at 10.
My daughter is 12 and nothing but the attitude yet.

It was a miracle.Silly me, I thought you were a boy.
Had identical twins. both died- one before he was born and one about 6 months after birth.
removed foot from mouth... comment made about the "thought you were a boy" thing.
Yeah, I remembered reading them when I was 10, but I can't remember when I outgrew them.
How about VC Andrews?
I'm just kidding by the way....she should be way older so she can deal with the effed up stories!
i started reading the vc andrews books right around that time, along with stephen king. Guess it all depends on the kid though. Hmmm...might be why I'm a little loony now
