Sister wrote me an email saying she heard something on the news yesterday about a change in the booster seat law for Maryland. She didn't hear all of it and wasn't going to be able to stay up for the 11 o'clock news. Did any hear of any changes??

I guess now that the date is approaching, they are just "reminding" people about the new law. I had heard about it awhile back too but already thought it went into effect. I have two kids in booster seats right now.

My youngest just turned 7 on June 6 and asked me since he is 7 now does he still have to sit in his booster seat. Well wouldn't you know that day I got the email telling me the new requirements. He will probably be over 8 and still sitting in one. He is my string bean....Loves to eat but doesn't gain weight rapidly. Don't know where those genes came from....:lmao:

My two have always been tall for their age and have had to be packed into their carseat when younger. Neither one of mine (ages 7 and 4) mind being in booster seats. Oldest is about 60lbs and skinny as a rail. Youngest is about 40lbs and built like a tank! I was planning on keeping mine in booster seats until age 9 anyways.

My oldest son will be 13, is almost 5'8, 170 rock solid, already wears a size 10 1/2 in a mans shoe and is a 32/34 waste. Did stay in the boys sizes long at all. Sucks because his clothes are more expensive than the boys. Completely day and night difference in the oldest and youngest.

Nah, the government is taking care of us just fine, but thank you Larry.

...so you are not in favor of child safety, eh? Well now. What do we have here? A ####ing comedian? You little scumbag! I've got your name! I've got your ass! You will not laugh! You will not cry! You will learn by the numbers. I will teach you. Repeat after me: "It's for the children." Say it. Say it now. 'It's for the children'. Repeat it!

Yeah...

Did you know it's illegal to wear a helmet while driving a car in MD?

seems they restrict your hearing and vision, but only in a car.
that all goes away if you sit on a bike.

...well, Maryland has a special place in it's heart for bikers. I understand y'all have to start wearing seat belts next year.

:lmao:

Did you know it's illegal to wear a helmet while driving a car in MD? .

...I did NOT know that. I got a concussion from trying feed cats two winters ago (long story) and I was pondering while driving one day, why not wear a helmet in a car?

Oh no, I'm all for it. In fact, I think they should up the age to say... 15? I mean, if you're not old enough to drive yourself, you're a child, and therefore should be in a child safety seat. Right?

:roflmao:

 There are no "walls" around a bike, and I'm assuming no blind spots either.

A decent helmet IS the blind spot, especially for those of us that wear full face helmets. And with the intercom cable dangling, and the stereo playing in my helmet and the passenger talking thru their intercom into my helmet, no distraction at all. All perfectly legal, but you can't put headphones on in a car either....
