Hey Buttgiggles,...you might knock off a couple hundred if you shop the Aldi "Specials" aisle for your next tot you wish to warp.
Ok here I go again. Black kids belong with black adoptive parents. No gay person should ever be eligible for adopting a child.
some people here may not like my opinion, But it's mine and i am sticking with it.

“ Look at me - I’m white and I adopted a black kid! “
Something wrong with that?

We didn’t do that to virtue signal - she was - and is - smart, talented and beautiful.

The reality is that the number of black children needing adoption FAR exceeds demand from prospective black parents. And the longer a child waits the less likely they will ever be adopted. Making some condition like only black parents can adopt black children results in only one outcome - most won’t get homes.

Incidentally - UNICEF has taken this tack but to an extreme- they are against a child being moved from a culture they were born in. The result is - overwhelming number of orphans never get adopted. And in many countries that spells an early grave because once they age out, they’re mostly left to fend for themselves.

For this reason - I do support gay couples adopting - with the proviso that couples with a mother AND father have higher priority, because that situation has been shown to produce the optimal outcome for kids. Because having a parent is much better than never having one.

Once they age out? You mean once they are an adult. Believe it or not adults are left to fend for themselves many places.

In Russia - they "age out" at 15. Stats have shown with no critical skills learned in the orphanage, most will die within a few years, having succumbed to drugs, alcohol and/or prostitution. I keep up with a man who has dedicated his life to combat this problem - orphans whose transition into adulthood that usually results in failure. He's written a great but heartbreaking book called "Infinitely More". HIghly recommend it.

In other nations, yes, they're an adult - and they're often given little more than the clothes off their back. No family, no relatives. Even in the West, if you're booted out of the house at 18 with just the clothes on your back, little to no education and nothing to fall back on - you're going to have a hard time - but at least we have something like a social safety net. Poorer nations have little to none.

And the numbers can be horrible - without some kind of adoption program - hundreds of thousands of children will never know a family. Even when there exists one, most never leave the orphanage. In the book I mentioned above - it is common for adults to foster kids for the sole purpose of the stipend - and return them at the end of the month. In far too many nations, just being an orphan carries a stigma that might as well be leprosy.

HENCE - the POINT to my argument - that it is better for a child to have a parent to care for them - than to have nothing, because some person or organization believes the only acceptable parent is one of the same race or culture.

Hey, those child-trafficking rings can't operate without children.

Why do you suppose that is?

That is not a rhetorical question.
I honestly have no idea. Maybe a lot of conjecture:

1. Perhaps the supply of black babies and toddlers are already at saturation. While it’s common for white couples to wait to have children it’s possible that isn’t true of black parents who may already have more than they can handle.

2. We encountered cultural barriers where people resisted the idea of raising a non-relative. We saw that a lot. Adopting stranger’s kids was hard fought in Ethiopia but it was gaining traction.

3. Perhaps there’s just too many, a variant of #1. We found that black children available for adoption FAR surpassed white children which were in such short supply you not only need to adopt before they’re even born - the birth mother might even set conditions- like daily contact with the child.

But - I have no proof just guesses.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Doesn't matter who raises a black child really, except gays. As long as they are supported, properly motivated and encouraged, black folk can do amazing things. Turn up the volume.

Many black kids are raised by their grandparents. Pops left for some Newports and never came back. Mom's overwhelmed with keeping track of which dude fathered her kids.

Not all. But the stereotype exists for a reason. Single moms raising a brood of kids isn't thinking of adoption. 70% of black babies are born out of wedlock. That leaves the adoptive parents pool at 30% give or take.

Black kids in the foster system are royally skrewed. But it isn't white supremacy that is holding them back. It's a culture that glorifies baby daddies and fathering multiple kids you don't support.

  • Desmond Hatchett, 33, of Knoxville, has 30 children by 11 different women. He asked for his child support payments to be reduced - even though his paycheck stretched to just $1.49 per child per month. He is currently in jail for aggravated assault.
  • Richard M. Colbert from Memphis has 25 children by 18 different women. He claims he does not have to pay for any of them as they are all adults.
  • Terry Tyrone Turnage, of Memphis, has 23 children by 17 women. He recently filed a petition in court to lower his child payments but never turned up for the hearing. One mother said he had been ordered to pay $279 a month - but the most she had ever seen was $9.
