Bored Cat please help

well this might be long so here it goes, i have 2 cats and a dog, my bf's orange cat (redlion) is very annoying. he is into everything. i cant get a full nights sleep ever with him. around 3-4 am he is begging for food, he does everything in his power to wake me up (not the bf just me) i have to hang my glasses from a hanger in the closet he will move them to the living room floor, he takes my cell phone, will pull my alarm clock down anything he can get his paws on. if we lock him out he destroyes the house. he has gotten in the kitchen cabinets, pulled all the sandwich bags out the boxes, pulled spaghetti noodles out the box all over. he killed my fish, he will have my femine products everywhere, toilet paper all over.

well he has a tree house thats floor to ceiling, i have bought cat sitter videos he wont watch them, he plays alot with the dog and other cat, every morning he does you can get me laps from the dog.

i dont know what to do, i have closed him in the shower stall but a hour later he manages to push out, the doors dont latch very well cuz he can lean up hard on the door and get in. im at witts end, my next choice is a cage and i put him in the dogs cage one night but he shredded the floor up underneath.

please help me cope with this cat.

I was channel surfing one night and I stopped on Animal Planet for some reason. I don't know what the show is called, but the animal expert; a British lady; was helping a couple deal with the guy's Husky, who wasn't very fond of the G/F. During the show, the dog's behavior became more violent toward the G/F.

It sounds like you have the exact same situation, with the exception that a cat's involved. Is the cat violent toward you? (ie: scratch or bite you?) Does the troublesome cat get the same amount of attention as the other cat and the dog, from you? That might be the reason for the behavior.

Cats need structure and challenges, they thrive on it. Give him a regular daily schedule (feeding, playtime, teaching). Keep the items that he messes with put away where he can't get at them, I had to get a latching trash can for one of my cats that liked to rummage through it. Keep the toilet paper in the cabinet for a while until he forgets about it. It'll take time, I'm sure. I'm starting to have to learn how to deal with that one with my cat right now as well. Right now I have a towel over mine, but it sounds like your cat might just pull the towel off. Also, don't give him attention at night when he messes with you. If he persists, try closing the door. Good luck. Training takes time.

Our cat is a night prowler also. We have resorted to locking him in the laundry room at night so we can get some sleep. :shrug:
