I stopped wearing them long ago but that was because I was entering highly secure buildings where they were not allowed. First time I had to go braless because I forgot, I came home and tossed every single one I own in the trash.

The doc said its not the metal or plastic in the bra that's suspect, its the crushing of lymph nodes keeping them from draining properly. It happens in some other bras as well, but the underwire style is most suspect.
