Branch Ave Metro Parking

There's a thread that's a couple years old on this topic, but I'm hoping for more current info. I (reluctantly) have to head into D.C. tomorrow and was hoping to take the metro at Branch Ave. Does anyone know if the parking lot fills up, and if so, what time that normally occurs? Is 8:00am too late to find a parking spot on a workday?

Do you mean Auth Way. jetmonkey is talking about Branch Ave at Naylor Rd. It will cut a few stops off but the indigenous population may cut a few things too.

I have found parking on a weekday about 930-1000 no problem before.

The last time I was at Branch Ave, the parking lots were full. I drove around two parking lots which were full and had to pay to get out, even though I never found a spot. There were no parking attendants around so those of use that did not find a spot had to pay to leave. I went to Naylor Rd and found a spot no problem.

Actually you'd be better off driving. Where are you going anyway, and for how long?

Thanks for the replies. I guess the 7:00am metro is the way to go. I’ll be getting to my destination (Independence Ave) about 90 minutes early, but it’s still worth it to avoid driving through D.C.

If Branch Ave. lot is full, you can drive a few miles to Suitland metro (Silver Hill Rd., next to Census building). They have a nice parking garage there. Keep looking over your shoulder though.

Thanks

I got to the Branch Metro stop at 7:00 and had no problems finding parking. I might push it out to 7:30 next time. Thanks again for the responses.
