J.F. A sus ordenes!
Had to replace the windshield on my 96 Accord at Brandywine New and Used Glass in Brandywine Md. Got the first window replaced and found it had a deep scratch in it when I got the car. They said it would be a week to replace because they had to let the sealant dry or it would be messy. Sounded reasonable.

Week later, new windshield, new deep scratch but this time the mechanic called it a "mechanics scratch" :eyebrow: WTF? Again I had to wait another week for the "sealant to dry" and today they installed window 3.

The guy let me inspect it for defects and it was good to go. After the installation I questioned a gap in the rubber strip on the edge of the windshield. It had a gap about 3/4" long and I feared water would get in there. They called the individual who did the install and while he was walking in they told him that I had a question about the gap. He copped and attitude and was nodding his head in disbelief that I had an issue with the install. I was supposed to accept the window as installed because they couldn't get it right? I was :tantrum and very :cussing: about the whole thing. They offered me my labor back and the manager gave me a business card for 15% off next purchase. I won't be back there ever.

I will not be using them again for anything I need. I will repair the gap in the window seal myself.

Could have gotten the window at Royal Auto Glass in Waldorf for $230 with new window seals which was actually cheaper! Go freaking figure! Should have listened to the wife!

Like you, I too have learned the hard way; and I'm still learning.
I've found that heeding advice from a third party and "comparison shopping," for lack of a better term, can save you money and get the job done right the first time.

Call the main office and ask to speak to Woody Meinhardt. File a complaint, I am sure you will hear back from him. They really are great with customer service, maybe just not the guy you dealt with. Let them know

Sounds almost as bad as my experience with A&M in Hughesville. They must have installed 5 windshields trying to get it installed 1 time correctly, not to mention having to repaint the entire windshield frame becuase they scratched the hell outta it. I will NEVER do business with them again.
