Seems everyday you hear another story of a child that is kidnapped, molested and murdered. Has it always been this bad or is this a symptom of a sick society that allows so much porn to be easily accessable? I can remember as a child having my bedrrom window open on hot summer nights but God forbid I do that now with my children. Its a terrible thing when parents have to worry of their children being snatched away from their beds never to be seen again. We tell our children there is no such thing as monsters, yet they walk among us. Illegal porn needs to be removed from our society, strict and severe penalities should be enforced. They predators need to be tattooed and computer chipped to keep them "tagged" and monitored like the animals they are.

Accessible pornography is an excuse. Really, the only difference is access to national news at a moment's notice, so we are hearing of cases that 20 years ago we wouldn't have heard of.

MIAMI - A jury on Wednesday recommended that a convicted sex offender get the death penalty for the kidnapping, rape and murder of 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford, who was buried alive in trash bags just yards from her home.

The jury, on a 10-2 vote, brushed aside pleas for mercy and a life sentence from defense lawyers based on claims that John Evander Couey, 48, is mentally retarded and suffers from chronic mental illness. Jurors, the same ones who convicted him last week, deliberated for about one hour.

The final decision on Couey’s fate will be made in several weeks by Circuit Judge Richard Howard, who is not bound by the jury’s recommendation but is required to give it “great weight.”
