Professor Murray Goot, who led the research, said Australians view their distinctive accent and slang as a "defining part of what it is to be Australian" and are therefore worried about outside influences.
:lmao:

And THIS, my friends, is why we are a superpower and they're not.

Asked to judge the influence of American culture on Australia, 67% of respondents said they were "not at all pleased" about the prevalence of U.S.-style fast food in Australia. Australians ranked fast food second only behind U.S. foreign policy as an issue they were "very worried" about.

If they don't like the burgers, why are they buying them?

Would THIS face lie?
It kind of bothers me that these other countries are just looking for an excuse to hate Americans...I am starting to think like Brother Mike: "Nuke em, then they'll learn" BTW, that sacres me...Not nuking but thinking like Mike...

A further 52% said they were very unhappy with the influence of "the American language" on the way people speak, which could easily now include phrases such as "Hey, buddy" instead of "G'day mate."
Last time I was there, the Aborigines were unhappy with the influence of the European criminals that ruined their way of life.

If White Australians were some long standing, classical civilization I could see them being upset, but they just haven't been around long enough to matter.

I was completely unaware that anyone was forcing Australians to speak American slang and eat American junk food. I thought they were a sovreign nation.

You are either with us, or against us.

do not do something that will find you outside of the Bush's American circle of trust.
once you are out, you can never get back in.

I, working in La Plata, miss my greasy fattening burgers. Wendy's uses low-fat here in CoLP (That's City of La Plata). KFC here uses lowfat grease. And now, McDonalds sucks. :yikes:

I, for one, miss those fatty burgers and super size fries, and whenever I want it, I have to come up with a :bs: excuse to go to Waldorf.

Nobody's forcing the people here to eat it either. People eat it by choice.

But instead, they :bawl: and :blahblah: about they're getting too fat eating McDonalds 6 times a week. So, our answer, get rid of Super Size (so I can't get a 1.5L Sweet Tea) and use lowfat grease, thus FORCING me to eat food that I don't like.

What's your option here? Eat elsewhere. Now, what's my option, bring my own food and boycott La Plata food (minus Cindy's Pancakes Plus  and Johnny Boys).
