Maybe you could/should refuse and just not officially renew and stay grandfathered into your old contract to keep it ongoing? Were they saying they were going to disconnect your service if you did not renew to a current plan? If not, stand your ground and do not renew with a forced upgrade. That's BS! A Breezeline salesman called the store this week. Apparently our contract is ending so he wants to renew. But guess what - the package we have is no longer available! We signed on with the bare minimum - we don't need a lot of speed, only a reliable connection - which Breezeline has been for us during the almost 3 years we have had them when comparing to Verizon DSL. Give me the cheapest package you have which was the 25Mbps download speed at the time we signed on. Well I can no longer get that speed on a contract basis so would have to go to the monthly pricing, which I think he said is $20/month more than we are paying now. BUT I can get the 100Mbps speed on a 3 year contract for only $10 more per month than I am paying now. But I don't need to go that fast - it only encourages my employees to watch regular porn vs midget porn.
So yeah, I guess I'm off midget porn now.
No we were not going to lose service but just resort to monthly billing at the higher rate. For your consideration ...

Typically, business such as this will use words to give the impression that you will lose service, when in fact not, since you would have to agree, give consent, to that forced upgrade.
Well paper free bills go out over the internet and the cost send email has gone up faster than the cost to sent it USPSOn a side note. I did notice that the "fee" for the privilege to receive a paper bill went from $1 to $2. Damn paper inflation!
Personally, I never allow any company to switch me to paperless billing. I force them to send me a paper record of my activity/spending. Especially any bank I deal with.Well paper free bills go out over the internet and the cost send email has gone up faster than the cost to sent it USPS
I see no reason to fill up the ground with more trash. I can always go online and print out a statement or bill if it's needed.I pay almost everything online. My hairdresser doesn't take cards, nor does my lawn guy. I write them checks. Only paper bill I get is Metcom. The rest is via email.
