My husband is a firefighter for Solomons and he has been there for all the hurricanes and tropical depressions they we have had in the last 10 years. There are always rumors and there were many phone calls made to the firehouse asking if the bridge was closed. A phone call would have been made from the Emergency Management office to the firehouse if it was closed. I just called my husband and verified it and he said it has never been closed for the weather.

It was closed for several hours when Isabelle come thru

I'd say your husband is wrong...

I know for a fact it was closed for several hours during Isabel, and I had JUST made it over the bridge before they had closed it the second time.. State and County cops, with highway crews on both ends of the bridge preparing to close it as I drove by.
