To all that are traveling across the Solomons Island bridge on their way home today, Mike Springer has just informed us that their are several police officers inspecting whether or not people are using their seat belts. If they're not buckled up, they are issuing tickets. From the announcements that they have been issuing on the radio, they will continue to do this from different locations during this holiday weekend.

Plus, of course, they will close the bridge if too many people are in violation.

You can get away with murder in Maryland.
You can get away with drug trafficking in Maryland.
You can get away with robbery in Maryland.

But DON'T YOU DARE drive over 55 or forget your seatbelt in Maryland
because you will be INSTANTLY caught, fined and even JAILED!

If the "police" put 1/10th the effort into working on REAL public safety
issues that they put into "revenue generation" on the highways, we
would be much better off! Where are they when the person blows past
you on Rte 4 while talking on the cell-phone and reading the paper?
Where are they when your house is being broken into in the Ranch Club?
Where are they when you are being "eyeballed" by the "gangstas" while
at the convenience store?

Yup! They're gonna go after the "easy kills" to fluff up their stats for
the end-of-month reports!
