Wasn't on the bike today, but we are on vacation in Lynchburg VA. We took a ride up to "Peaks of Otter", and have to tell you, as FANTASTIC a road as the BRP is, the roads leading to the BRP were even better.

Single lane, high banked turns, beautiful views. On our way up to "Natural Bridge" we came in from the North of 29 up near Blairs. About halfway there off of 29 the road turned into a magnificent bike road.. I'll have to look it up to find the route number but OMG. Lot of S turns, and high banks on ALL the curves of the S's.. You'd come off one high bank going left to have to crank it hard going right. Going uphill for the first run into the turn, for a drop off with a high bank going back down.

Will be riding the bike down here soon.. PERFECT weather for a ride this week too, bumming I didn't bring it down.

Was coming off the Skyline a few years ago at Rt.33
Nice early June day and a thunderstorm caught us just as we got to the turnoff.
With hail.
We waited out the storm and then headed down the mountain. It was just like you described with tight banked turns.
Then we come around a corner and hit a white out fog bank. :yikes:
Couldn't see a dayum thing  Guess the hail on the hot road just turned it into white out conditions.

Afton Mtn is Waynesboro.

Peaks of Otter are near Bedford. (about 50 miles south)
If you go there be sure to check out the National D-Day Memorial.
:yay: Very cool
