Officials say 100 students at St. Lawrence University were evacuated from Lee Hall Monday after a fire was reported in one of the rooms.
The university's security director said students were evacuated to the student center.
Officials say a heat lamp that was being used to grow 'organic plants' in the closet of a dorm room overturned and touched off the fire.
The room was unoccupied at the time
Smoke was visible throughout the building.
The evacuation took place at approximately 1:30 p.m.
There were no injuries.
Canton Fire Department Second Assistant Chief Erik Johnson says the fire appears to be accidental in origin.
