Bust Em... or let them speed?

If any of your drive home includes a trip north on rt. 4 and over the bridge, you have experienced the snails pace traffic or being at a standstill.

I happen to live on a road just before the bridge that paralells this back-up. Folks have discovered they can jump ahead of numerous stopped cars by using the road I live on as a short-cut. No problem. The problem is all the frustration from sitting traffic gets applied to the accelerator. We're talking speeds of 70 to 80 mph on a 30 mph street.

Don't want to see anybody get a ticket, but considering calling the law and alerting them to the situation. Especially since almost getting nailed on the lawn tractor.

Bust-em or let them speed?

Make a great forum get together !

I'm thinking someone from a law enforcement agency reads the forums, and takes action. If someone on the force is short on the ticket quota, they'd make up for it in a day.

Take them out!!!!!! I hate that crap with people trying to get a car length or two ahead. Like at the intersection of 5 south and Leonardtown Hollywood road in Leonardtown or going the other way at 235 and 4 towards Leonardtown. Makes me wish for a rocket launcher. :tantrum

From Rt 235 to Rt 4 north is the biggest pain to travel. A month after I moved here I was hit from behind because the moron behind me was in such a hurry he didn't pay attention that traffic was stopped. Idiots will come flying up behind you and then lock them up when they realize that you aren't moving!

I'm afraid the traffic will only increase! I still have not figured out, why once you clear the bridge you roll. Why do people slow down once they are on the bridge? I know there is not a bridge jumper up there everyday.

The base of the bridge would be an awesome place to set up a Girl Scout cookie stand! :yay:

I have never been able to understand that either. Why do people go so slow over the bridge? They even slow down right before getting on the bridge. After you get through the mess at the light, it picks up a little bit and then it slows down again right before the bridge.

Patuxant Beach Rd. South? Might concider getting to gether with the other residents along the road and start a HOA or other "Private Residence" group. Then try to have the County give your group exclusive rights to the road and make the road "Resident Only". Possibly put in a gate at each entrance.

Another option is to get together with the family that ownes/operates the school busses about halfway down Patuxant Beach Rd. South. Have them "drop off kids" every 10 feet during rush. After a couple days of that, people will think twice about bypassing the traffic on Rt 4.

I know several people who get the jitters when they drive over it. Maybe that's the reason. I've never had a problem with the bridge myself.
