But he has to be a White Supremacist

The mainstream media also jumped in on blaming Republicans for the tragedy over the weekend. There was, as was to be expected, a slew of opinion pieces for left-leaning outlets, but it also found its way into the reporting sections of outlets as well. This included Salon, NPR, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, the editorial board of The New York Times, and CNN. The Washington Post weighed in with numerous pieces with both its news reports and opinion pieces, as did The Guardian.

And, as Julio highlighted on Monday, "Vox Media Makes the Buffalo Shooting All About Them." Matt also did coverage on "What's Interesting About the Rolling Stone Reporter Who Says Buffalo Shooter Is a 'Mainstream Republican.'"

Writing for The Hill, Mike Lillis and Emily Brooks highlighted how "Democrats hit GOP over 'replacement theory.'" Brooks, along with Mychael Schnell also wrote for the outlet about how "House GOP leaders say white nationalism accusations are all politics."

Nevertheless, Scalise took it all in stride. "What happened in Buffalo is a tragedy, and it’s disgusting and sadly predictable that some Democrats immediately attempted to exploit the tragedy of others for their own political gain. I’ve experienced political violence firsthand, and I never blamed anyone but the shooter," he offered in a statement to Townhall. "Blaming an opposing political party for the actions of an evil, insane individual is disgraceful and irresponsible. We should be focused on praying for the victims and their families, bringing swift justice to the person directly responsible for the tragedy, and ratcheting down the heated political rhetoric."

We know that Gendron threatened to shoot up his high school. He was taken in for a mental health evaluation, but that's where the story stops. What came of it?

It's another case of having enough laws on the books to stop such heinous crimes but having the authorities drop the ball. Enforce the law. Period.

It's been a few days since some freak decided to go on a shooting spree, and the left told you it was all your fault because this toad scribbled an incoherent series of idiot ramblings blaming people of other races and ethnicities for his own total failure at life. No mystery about motive this time; the FBI was right on the case, and shame on you for drawing the obvious conclusion that this was because the administration felt this incident could be exploited for cheap political gain. Except it hasn't worked the way that they hoped. Their lies aren't cutting it anymore, even when they carted Grandpa Badfinger out to the scene and got him running his fool mouth about the lies du jour.

No more.

They are so bummed that we're not hanging our head in shame for what the *consults the moron's manifesto* green, fascist, socialist who hates Fox News did. It was like the libs were sitting there just waiting for some creep to go kill-crazy, and they must have been frustrated lately that Team Tucker has never been behind any of the recent atrocities. Waukesha, the Brooklyn subway – the last few creeps who did this have been pretty much down with the CRT agenda, and that had to be disappointing to the progs since their idiotic ideology made them useless for propaganda purposes. After all, the proper thing to do when innocent citizens are mowed down because of the color of their skin is, in the eyes of the left, to try to leverage the mayhem to disarm and disenfranchise normal people who had nothing to do with it.

The Democrats are more excited about this event than Jeffrey Toobin when he gets a Zoom call. No wonder President Crusty even found time in his busy schedule of Cornholio-esque tirades and "Matlock" marathons to go to Buffalo to distract people from issues like baby food shortages and $6 gas. Biden's flacks claimed he wanted to grieve, but that's a lie like everything else the glorified zombie says. He wanted to go claim that you did this thing that someone else did because you refused to submit to pinko domination.

If I were an innocent unarmed defenseless victim who survived a shooting by some crazed person I would not advocate for more gun control, I would advocate for myself to have a defense. I want to be able to stop this person by shooting back instead of standing there with nothing in my hand as I am mowed down.

I can see this shop owner will receive lots of threats. This is more of the state dropping the ball on this and not red flagging him. The state's response to this will be a law raising the purchase age limit .

The liberal media went right into spin mode to blame Fox News & Tucker Carlson. Even with his manifesto out they are not changing their view.

That or maybe accelerated wear with tossing a 10,000 rd bolt in a new barrel or vice verse's.
That was kinda what I was getting at. If an armorer has verified the head spacing in a rifle as OK, they don't want that result messed up by swapping the parts that together determine what the head spacing is. As I'm sure you know, the head space check for these is simply a pair of gauges..a "go" and a "no go".

The good part is that platform really doesn't have a lot of head space issues with its history.
What little I have seen has involved lower quality barrels.
Last winter I rebarreled a Savage Axis 2 into 6.5 Creedmoor, to set headspace I used a new piece of brass with a layer of Scotch tape on the shoulder. lol...
Now remember I reload so I have the capability to set the shoulder where I want it.
Thats Merica Engineering....

I tend to buy new old Colt complete rifles,
along with Rock River and BCM complete uppers and lowers depending on the use. High end High Power uppers are White Oak and Rocks.
I bought a 10" Palmetto for a replacement on a old Colt and it had massive head space.
I gave up with there barrels after the second one went back.
If I built them im sure they would look like triple blems when I was done. I have an afliction with hammers and none if them are gentle....

What issues with head space have you seen with that platform with your builds?

I've had zero issues with anything I've built with the uppers I've put together from primarily Anderson or Alexander...so I tend to stick with them. But things might get interesting because I've been recently buying components like barrels and bolt groups from a wider range of sources.. I've constantly been tempted to buy from Palmetto because their prices are so good...and then I get squeamish after seeing some of the stories from other builders.

Alexander Arms is actually owned by a good friend of mine...so that's another reason I stick with them.

About all my friends in the industry have retired... #sadface

Buffalo Shooter’s Personal Diary Is Pretty Clear About His Sources Of Inspiration

Before the shooting, which occurred in a predominately black neighborhood, Payton Gendron published a 106-page manifesto online describing himself as a “white supremacist” and “anti-Semite.” Gendron said explicitly in his diary that he developed his beliefs from 4chan and Reddit after the start of the pandemic.

“My current beliefs started when I first started to use 4chan a few months after covid started. Many of which I got from 4chan’s /pol/ page and links found in /nsg/ and threads like that,” he wrote in a diary entry labeled Jan. 30, referring to 4chan discussion forums.

Gendron also credited Reddit with forming his beliefs and listed several Reddit forums in which he frequently posted.

“Of course, many of my beliefs come from reddit too. Many subreddits I joined have been banned but they show up on r/AgainstHateSubreddits all the time,” he wrote Jan. 30. “One’s that are still around include r/greentext, r/4chan, r/PoliticalCompassMemes, r/SocialJusticeInAction, r/LoveForLandlords, and r/AntiHateCommunites, of which I am actually in their discord.”

Numerous media organizations attempted to link Gendron with the Republican Party and prominent conservatives like Tucker Carlson for inspiring Gendron while largely overlooking the shooter’s own words, in which he blamed online forums including Reddit and 4chan while condemning the Republican Party.

NBC News’ Ben Collins said Carlson is someone “directly trying to preach” to extremists like the Buffalo shooter, while a Rolling Stone commentary piece said the shooter was a “mainstream Republican,” and a Washington Post piece linked his ideology to Carlson and two other Republicans. A New York Times article also blamed Carlson for promoting “replacement theory,” the idea that elites are replacing white Americans with immigrants to gain political power, which was referenced by Gendron in his diary.
