When the vet said there was nothing he could do except prolong the inevitable I lost it worse then my wife did. We could have brought her home for a little while longer but couldn't stand the thought of her suffering.

Bowie, Buddy and Frenchy have all passed on.

I am sorry for your loss Mr and Mrs. Wharf! :huggy:

That picture is priceless! No cares in the world, it shows the Wharf's did Bowie, Buddy and Frenchy well in the time with them!

OMG...I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face...I'm sorry for your loss:huggy: As a pet owner myself, I know the feeling of emptiness after the loss of a pet...and euthanasia...VERY difficult...and sad.

I wish you, your wife, and your pet family peace during this difficult time.

Rest in Peace sweet girl:bawl:

I am very sorry for your loss, Mr. and Mrs. Wharf. We lost our best buddy on July 12 to cancer and it's been terrible. The house still feels empty, even with the 4 dogs still with us. RIP Bowie. She looked so well loved.

Thanks everybody. We knew this was going to be a tough year for us with the older dogs. We lost Granny beagle a few months ago, but still have Daisy at 14 years old and Max who's pushing 12. The younger generation (mostly beagles) are 6 years and under.

We didn't expect Bowie to leave us this soon but for her sake we had to let her go. She wasn't in any pain (yet) but she was certainly uncomfortable. We had a similar situation many years back where our selfishness caused a great dog to suffer, only to die without us being there. We vowed to never let that happend again. It crushed us to let her go but she'll always be here in our hearts.

Again, thanks everybody for the kind words. Please give your animals (what ever they are) a good scratching or belly rub for old Boo Bear and please treasure your time with them.

:yay:

I feel you. I'm constantly worried about old Gazelle, she's almost 14 now, and that is ancient for her breed. Pretty much exists between the couch, the foodbowl, and occasional stroll to poo and pee in the yard. Every now and then she suprises me by actually RUNNING though, so there is still hope, haha.

Oh Wharf, I'm so sorry, please give my thoughts to your wife....

That picture is priceless! No cares in the world, it shows the Wharf's did Bowie, Buddy and Frenchy well in the time with them!

It's obvious that the misfits never realized that's what they were supposed to be since they seem to have "fit" perfectly in your home!

(you both are awesome w/your love for the animals)

Blessings on you and yours for your kindness and strength to take her in when she needed you most. Like our departed loved fur babies, she is waiting in that "bridge" by the Rainbow for you to cross into eternal warmth and peace, side by side.
