Cabins in Tennessee

We're going back to PF/Gat this year.. and I've been telling them we should go to Cades Cove.. this is part of the National Park? Can you drive through the park and Cades Cove? or do you have to do - I see theres horseback riding.. hayrides... biking.. but can't you just drive around the park??? and then hike the falls?

We drove through Cades Cove and would pull of to the side if we wanted to get out and look around. As we were leaving, there was a long line of cars stopped, looking at this giant elk that was laying in a open field.

We drove thru cades cove and loved it. We were stopped looking across the field and there was a baby black bear cub playing in a tree. A man got out of his car with a boy about 7or8 and took the boy across the field to try and catch it. I was so scared we would witness their death, Hubby told me to just keep videoing it because the police would want it as evidence if the momma bear charged out of the woods. They got almost to the baby and it jumped down and ran into the thicket of woods. Boy and his dad slowly returned to their vehicle. I think people just do not realize that they are in the wild with wild animals and not a zoo where you are protected by fences.

Is it.....

I'm looking into renting a cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains for 7 nights/8 days. Never been...so tell me whats a "must do". Also, if you have any reccomendations on cabins, I would appreciate it. Would like 3 bedrooms. TIA

Ten-eh-SEE or TEN-eh-see?

Cades Cove

Cades Cove is awesome. We go to Gatlinburg every November for our anniversary. We actually own 3 timeshares there, lol. We always go to cades Cove at least once during our week long stay. As others of said, pull over and let others drive by, enjoy the scenery. There are a few hiking trails along the way, at lest one leads to a waterfall, kinda rough walk. There are lots of cabins and other structures to look at. Another little known excursion is in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg is off of Historic Nature Trail. Go up the hill and keep going, you'll enter the Smoky Mtn Park, keep driving and you'll see more cool places. If you need more ideas, just ask.

I've done the Dixie Stampede before.. any other suggestions? I know one of the other woman didnt' get to go to the xmas place - over by the Inn - and she loves xmas so I know she wants to go there.. and I'd like to go over by the Old Mill again but.. suggestions?

Gatlinburg stuff

We like to go to Bubba Gump's once to eat. Food is better than average but the atmosphere is well worth it. Something new is 2 moonshine spots in town. Both offer free samples :buddies: . Any place in the Smoky Mtns in great. Enjoy !!
