Do you get a lot of interference when it rains?

I have Dish Network and we rarely lose signal during storms. Though we did lose it today for about 5 minutes when that strong band came through around 1445-1500.

ok, so I ended up going with Metrocast because there is a clause in the HOA here saying no satellite for tv... that being said, this is the crappiest cable I have EVER had in my life! Seems like they have a total monopoly and that isn't fair for the people of Leonardtown.

Generally, this is true for most cable companies - they have a monopoly over their area. And truth be told, if I had a choice, I would drop them in a cold second, because while their product is good, their customer service is about as bad as any company I've ever dealt with.

Right now, they're insisting on some service charge for something the technician told to my face would not incur a charge. I've been talking to them for weeks now, and each time they insist I owe them the money, and chide me over not having purchased their "service plan". I can see no compelling reason to take on their service plan, because experience so far has shown, they've always weaseled their way out of any culpability.

Like I said, monopoly. If they had any competition, they'd be gone.

Rarely... We just upgraded our Directv service to HD with the whole home DVR. I don't know how we ever lived without it. The picture is so crisp with HD and with the whole home DVR service there is always something to watch.

Have to agree although Dish is my provider of choice. Been with them almost 15 years and maybe 4 outages lasting an hour total in that time. The Hopper is a fantastic device and with the virtual and super Joeys just announced at CES it's only going to get better.
