How do they not get that?! If I have to pay my employees more, I will raise the prices - no ifs, ands, or buts! It is that or cut back on services. See my post above. The service part of retail is already in the crapper but it will probably continue getting worse.
You just have to stop living in that lifestyle you've grown accustomed to.

No more champagne lifestyle. You'll be on a beer budget.

Why is it that political leaders never realize the consequences for these actions.

They do, it just doesn't affect them so they don't care. And the Demcult doesn't know where money comes from - they think it comes from the government - so they'll literally vote for anything some Democrat elitist tells them to.

I have a couple of thing here. First they are redoing all of the McDonalds, and they are hiding the kitchens so we can't see the workers.
Wonder why?

2nd they tell you not to re-use the bottles that store bought water cone into because they might corrupt the water. How is it they might corrupt tap water , but not the store bought water. ?

You know, we tell ourselves that it's ok to eat tasty but unhealthy and barely nutritious food because ---

It's fast - and it's cheap.

We now find ourselves waiting in long drive through lunch queues to buy expensive "fast food" that hasn't gotten any tastier or better.

And I'm now repulsed by the idea that I could be spending 12 to 14 bucks for a fast burger that I could spend on - at LEAST - a small steak grilled at home. Two, if on sale.

Have you ever really watched what goes on behind the counter? The antics, the way food is handled.... Gotta hide that.

And anything to stop the incessant beeping of fry cooker alarms that penetrate the dining area is a big plus.

The wife and I stopped at the Roy Rogers in Solomons yesterday. I think the average age of the employees working had to be somewhere in the 40's.

Kids just aren't interested in working. They seem to have never-ending resources.
Kids today don't know how to work, because they have never worked.
It's a lot different when St. Mary's County kids worked on their parents farms, or did chores, or had a parent who worked with them,

sweet deal.... Being a senior citizen, I have a job lined up as a 2nd assistant fry cooker at the local corporate giant. They give me 15 minutes off every hour, all the salt I want and FREE water! of course, all that grease makes my skin break out but the Manager, Vishnoon Bkahrran-Patel, said "dats okay my friend" vee keep in back and geeve you clearasil.

$12.50 and hour!!!
What will this do to our breakfast meetups, Greg?

Fast food hasn't been "cheap" for years. Whopper coke and fry is about 10 bucks. If they are willing to pay 15 in land of fruits and nuts......... so be it. It's cheaper to go to a diner.

I know it's not considered cool to be associated with Scouts anymore, but back when I was a kid, it was a common thing. You wore your uniform to school and only the real bullies gave you any grief. You learned how to be responsible. You developed a work ethic, and a home and community ethic. You got merit badges for community service and government affairs. For cooking, for auto safety and repair. You get the idea... You learned what the real world is all about, and by the time you graduated high school, you were prepared enough to get and hold a respectable job.

In your examples above, I'll bet quite a few were 4-H members. Today, there is a total lack of adult leadership and responsibility in seeing that kids are readied for the world. They are left to their own devices, and we are seeing the result of that.

A few years back, I frequented RR's and there were mostly teens working there. And I was impressed with most of them as they were friendly and polite and it didn't seem like it sucked to be there.
As a former business owner, I can say without a doubt that I would rather have adults than kids working in my store. Females in their 30's and 40's were preferable. Though I had a few "good" teens, a majority of them were lazy and couldn't follow directions and showed no initiative to do better.
I don't miss it at all!

The last time I was in Chick-Fil-A, it had declined a bit.

Horseplay, inattention, language.

Its probably getting harder and harder to find any whos parents didn't completely screw the pooch.
