California Lowes

:yeahthat:
It's easier to drive to Leonardtown True Value, than go to Lowes. Most of the time I have had no less than 3 employees ask what I'm looking for before I can get to the back of the store to get some bolts or whatever I'm looking for.

I broke one of my rules and went there about 2 yesterday. It was crowded as usual. While I was wandering around trying to figure out what little items would work best for a little project I noticed two employees just walking around asking if they could help people find something. One of the kids asked me twice. Maybe they are listening.

It's hit or miss with me, and Lowe's. I've been in there at times where the staff just gives me an aisle number for an item I'm looking for, and I bounce off three more staff before I find it, on my own, and they were all wrong. I've been in there where the customers are more help than the staff. And I've had staff walk me all around the store helping me find stuff personally. It just depends.

What I've always hated is the lines in their garden center. I can't believe how bad it is in there, typically.

I love our Lowe's (in Middletown). The clerks leave us alone, which I like...it gives BF and me time to argue about what we need to get. It's usually not hard to find someone in case we need to ask for help. They just built a Home Depot next door, and I don't like it. Things always cost more there.

That's similar to the Home Depot in Annapolis on 450. They can be right there when you need them but will let you browse without bothering you. Hubby and I used to make a special trip there when we lived in Bowie - now we go to Lowe's for most everything - unless it is so little that we will either go to Lusby Hardware in PF or Sneade's on 260.

I've been to that Lowes more times that I care to count. Never found there service any better or worse than any other mass-merchandiser or grocery store. After all thats what they are...A mass-merchandiser. They are no different than Wal-Mart or K-mart. If you are looking for a real hardware store or lumber yard, look at your local businesses.
