It's not my favorite place to shop, but damn, the prices are right for life's little essentials.
Agreed, but I'll pay a little extra and go to Target. :ohwell:

My kitchen light burnt out and I am out of lightbulbs. :tantrum

Not me. Those pennies add up. Have you ever seen my rock?

Yes I have and it's purdy.

Do you also use coupons?

Yep. Not as much as I used to, but I still use them. And I buy generic stuff. Whatever, to save a penny that can be better spent elsewhere.

I think of all money I'd save by actually cooking and eating at home more than once a week.

Gawd it is nasty out there. I had to go to the Post Office to pick up a package that wasn't delivered to me at home today. PITA.

I made a late run to the california wal mart for some nursery water and a pack of smokes, and of course while i was there picked up a few more items (being female i can't go shopping and get only what i went for.) so anyway i ended up getting a gift basket, two packs of tee shirts for my son, and three packs of mechanical pencils for stocking stuffers. the store was closing, and i went to the register, paid for the items i purchased, and the cashier put the bags in my cart for me. when i got home, i found that i had been charged for an extra gallon of nursery water (no biggie, it's only like a dollar, but still), and was completely missing the tee shirts and pencils.... which combined is nearly thirty dollars worth of merchandise i didn't recieve, but paid for!when i called the store, the person that answered the phone told me that i was pretty much SOL, and would have to call back in the morning if it was still there and anything could be done. i just thought that it would be a good thing for you all to know about, especially with it being christmas time and no doubt everyone is in a hurry to get everything done and doesn't think twice when the cashier puts bags in the cart. Make sure you check! i made that mistake once, but i can gurantee i'll never do that again!!! :cussing: :banghead:

These people were a little rough with you on this post today....

I try to always watch the person putting my stuff into the bag at the store. Then I take a quick look to make sure I got the right bag.

I guess that may not work if you had multiple bags (4-5 bags).

Good luck!

What do you mean by "These people"? Aren't you one of us or do you hold yourself in unique standing? :moon: If so :biteme: This is not the first post about someone leaving something behind, losing something, or other such personal idiocy. :loser: Of course we're going to give her a rough time.

Yeah, if you say so. I managed to grab all 4 of my bags from the carousel. This is what's wrong with the world today. Everybody wants to point a finger at someone else instead of saying "dur, I screwed that up".

Okay, I confess. I've done this any number of times. Typically what's happened is that the gal forgets to snag the last bag she's filling and set it up on the counter - she just leaves it hanging on the bag rack. And of course I'm busy trying to scan my ATM card and enter PINs and don't notice until I get home.

This happened to me just the other day with a 12-pack of Dial soap. I got home and was like . So I called the store and sure enough...

the fact that i didn't get the bag with all the stuff in in wasn't the major point... what pissed me off so bad about it was that when i called the store to see if it was there or if i forgot to grab it out of the cart all i got was "we're closed, so nobody can help you" which was utter bs! i had just left the store 10 minutes before and there were still 2 million people in line!

Maybe they kicked out everyone that was in line and they had to go back the next day to make their purchases.

I would like to say that that is just a hazard of shopping at discount stores but I had the same thing happen at Boscov's awhile back. I was doing major shopping and I left some of my packages at the sales desk so I didn't have to drag them all over the store.* I left the store and realized what I'd done, so I turned back to find them locking the doors. I knocked on the door and told them I'd left some stuff and could I run in and get it? "Too bad, lady - we're closed." :burning: So I called on my cell and told my story to the person who answered and they met me at the door with my purchases.

*This is another pet peeve of mine - why don't department stores have carts or something for you to put your stuff in while you're shopping? Don't they want me to buy more than I can personally carry?

You need one of those old lady carts on wheels that you pull along behind yourself.

My Gammy had one when she used to walk to the grocery store down the street.

I don't hold myself in high standing, just one of the crowd. No offense was intended. I agree people need to be responsible for their actions.

I don't know, I just thought people on this forum were a little bit too tough on her today. She knows she did it and probably won't get her stuff back from W-Mart.

Maybe I'm in the holiday sprit today, I just got off of work and I don't have to go back to work for a while.

I actually posted a thread about two women I work with who left their purses in the carts at local store. People pinched their cash but they did get their purses back.

Now even Vrai said she has done it, too. Happens to the best of us sometimes...........
