Agreed, but I'll pay a little extra and go to Target.elaine said:It's not my favorite place to shop, but damn, the prices are right for life's little essentials.
My kitchen light burnt out and I am out of lightbulbs.

Nope, haven't seen it. Show me next time.elaine said:Not me. Those pennies add up. Have you ever seen my rock?

Okay.elaine said:I only wear it when I dress up. My knuckles scrape the ground when I'm wearing it.

Yes I have and it's purdy.elaine said:But you've seen my car. More evidence of penny pinching at Wal-Mart.

Do you also use coupons?
I think of all money I'd save by actually cooking and eating at home more than once a week.elaine said:Yep. Not as much as I used to, but I still use them. And I buy generic stuff. Whatever, to save a penny that can be better spent elsewhere.

Gawd it is nasty out there. I had to go to the Post Office to pick up a package that wasn't delivered to me at home today. PITA.

DDoyle said:I made a late run to the california wal mart for some nursery water and a pack of smokes, and of course while i was there picked up a few more items (being female i can't go shopping and get only what i went for.) so anyway i ended up getting a gift basket, two packs of tee shirts for my son, and three packs of mechanical pencils for stocking stuffers. the store was closing, and i went to the register, paid for the items i purchased, and the cashier put the bags in my cart for me. when i got home, i found that i had been charged for an extra gallon of nursery water (no biggie, it's only like a dollar, but still), and was completely missing the tee shirts and pencils.... which combined is nearly thirty dollars worth of merchandise i didn't recieve, but paid for!when i called the store, the person that answered the phone told me that i was pretty much SOL, and would have to call back in the morning if it was still there and anything could be done. i just thought that it would be a good thing for you all to know about, especially with it being christmas time and no doubt everyone is in a hurry to get everything done and doesn't think twice when the cashier puts bags in the cart. Make sure you check! i made that mistake once, but i can gurantee i'll never do that again!!!

I try to always watch the person putting my stuff into the bag at the store. Then I take a quick look to make sure I got the right bag.
I guess that may not work if you had multiple bags (4-5 bags).
Good luck!
I would like to say that that is just a hazard of shopping at discount stores but I had the same thing happen at Boscov's awhile back. I was doing major shopping and I left some of my packages at the sales desk so I didn't have to drag them all over the store.* I left the store and realized what I'd done, so I turned back to find them locking the doors. I knocked on the door and told them I'd left some stuff and could I run in and get it? "Too bad, lady - we're closed." So I called on my cell and told my story to the person who answered and they met me at the door with my purchases.DDoyle said:"we're closed, so nobody can help you"

*This is another pet peeve of mine - why don't department stores have carts or something for you to put your stuff in while you're shopping? Don't they want me to buy more than I can personally carry?
