Yeah, been breaking up..Flipping back and forth from the Terps game and race.

We switched from the HD channel 5 (213 on Comcast) to regular channel 5 and it's not doing it. I guess it has something to do with the HD?

Probably. I don't have HD yet, and so far I haven't seen the problems you guys are talking about.

We had to switch from HD to regular ol channel 5

This might be a decent finish but I'd still rather be watching a race from Rockingham.

Whoa! That was a hard crash by Reutimann!

Knocked the wind right out of him. You could hear his crew chief saying: "C'mon boy, you have to get out of the car, it's on fire."

He's sitting there dazed. Camera was on him, he just couldn't react.

Finally, he comes around and gets out!

Yeah, that was scary for a few seconds. Glad he's okay.

Come on Matt, don't let Harvick get by you!!

...yep, the picture. I haven't watched a race in ages...until HD. I feel like I just watched an awards show or Idol; like I've done something sacreligious, unclean.

I confess I enjoyed that. And the picture did goof up for awhile up hear and the Terps were NOT in HD, damnit.

It is amazing how you can actually sense and see just how on the edge these guys and their cars are on the big screen. That kid who got sent into the wall with what, 8 to go, was barely touched and what was in total control one instant came apart like all the glue failed at once. Amazing.

If I'm hooked, me of all people, NASCAR can look to further growth.

There's more to it than just turning left for 500 miles. Interaction between drivers(watch who drafts with whom), the pit stops(slow or fast/any mistakes?), and how well have the crew chiefs set up the car's handling for the given conditions.

Then, there are the raw emotions of each of the drivers, as they try to get to the front. Some are patient about it, many or not. That can lead to mistakes, and that's when people and cars get wrecked.

The cars aren't really stock anymore, other than the bodystyles, they are finely tuned machines. But it is the human element behind the wheel that either makes it a winner, or heads it off to the garage.

That's why I like F1. All that plus turn right and try to not hit other cars. Very good racing.

The officials this year are horrible. They call a caution for debris and can't find the debris - this is ridiculous. Terrible race all around. Boring and NASCAR screwed us out of a decent finish, something California has yet to give us.

The situation with Harvick was that NASCAR didn't get all the debris from the David Reutimann wreck and that took Harvick out. Not real happy about either Harvick or Tony's day since they both got screwed somewhere. Harvick will be back in front at Vegas and Tony and Mark right behind.

Just another typical average Fontana yawn-fair. Nothing exciting about that track. I wish they would take it off the schedule and give us Darlington and Rockingham back.

Something that occured to me this morning, on the way to work:

How many times has Tony Stewart either entered or left pit row, in too much of a hurry? Penalized then, to the back of the pack, by NASCAR officials.

Seems I recall he did it a bunch last year, and got caught again this last race in California.

I like Tony; I like his demeanor, his spirit, and driving skills. But damn, Tony - why you got to put yourself in a hole so much? :lmao:
