I think the permit process is mainly in place to protect what the County and State have classified as critical areas, wetlands etc.
I don't like the fact that they have this kind of say in what I do with or on my property but that's the way it is. I think it's ridiculous!

The only time a permit to trim hedges is not required is if the purpose of the trimming is to make the deck look bigger.
