Can anyone help me?

I dont have a green thumb, and anything I try to grow seems to die on me.... Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could plant. I have a large flower bed and all I did was weed it last summer and there are plenty of bushes but I need some pretty flowers to look at while im weeding.. lol I want to make my yard pretty but dont want to spend a fortune and them die again..... All help greatly appreciated thanks

Great advice from the above posters! Regardless of what you plant, keep the weeds down through agressive mulch and plant cover. Try newspaper, old magazines and old papers. These materials are a cheap base layer, which will keep weed germination down. This in turn will require, alot less of the traditional wood based mulch.
