...I walk into the guitar shop in Ithaca and, as a lefty, the usual; one acoustic, a US strat and a Mexican strat and a sea of right handed beauties...despair, a lifetime of being the designated driver, so to speak. Of being the blind man backstage at Miss America.

But, something different. What's this? What's this??? Oh hell yeah, it's NOT the usual;

I had a buddy in Maine who was in the Navy with me and he played the banjo......well he was learning to play the banjo :lol: He went to a blue grass festival in Brunswick and met a guy named Jimmy Cox and they were chatting and Jimmy said he would teach him some stuff and gave my bud his number. My bud called him up and went over and discovered Jimmy Cox not only played the banjo he made them. Larry, (my bud) started going over and took some lessons and started helping making banjos. He really liked liked it and after a couple years when Larry retired from the Navy Jimmy gave him a custom personalized banjo as a retirement present. I met Jimmy once and he was not a conversationalist by a long shot but he could sure play the banjo. :lol:

There is a place called Turtle Hill Banjo, I have never been there but always wanted to go. You have to schedule an appointment just to get into the shop. I think it's down off Olivers Shop Rd or somewhere down there.

Usually once or twice a week I go out and sit on my front steps picking watching cars drive by.

I wish I had a better connection so I could put new ones up. I tried to put a video of me playing my guitar on but this dang computer won't do it.
