I really do have a cold sore and there was some good info in my deleted thread.
After every failed attempt at shortening the frequency in which I get them as well as how long they last I am considering going on Valtrex.
Yes cold sores are caused by the Herpes Virus so no need to tip toe around this fact.
I'm on day 8 now. Swelling has gone down, it's still scabby and it still hurts in the spot where the first blister started. The other areas are just red and crusty at this point. With this cold sore I was using Blistex daily, Abreva was used the first few days and it still spread and got huge. A also tried (for the first time) the Orajel two dose tubes which are supposed to work after just one treatment (these did not work).
My cold sores always start in the same spot and spread from there.
Please keep this thread on topic and I will do my best to not allow my demented side from participating in the conversation.
